8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, some recurring points of feedback include:

  • No Elevator/Stairs: As a historic building (dating from 1550), the B&B does not have an elevator, meaning guests will need to climb stairs (up to 5 flights or around 65 steps) to reach their rooms. However, staff are available to assist with luggage.
  • Check-in Process: Some guests have noted that the check-in office is located around the corner from the main hotel entrance, which can be a minor inconvenience upon arrival, especially with luggage.
  • Lack of In-Room Amenities: A few guests have mentioned the absence of in-room tea/coffee making facilities. There is also no extensive in-room information, so guests need to ask staff for restaurant recommendations.
  • Mosquitoes: A minor caution for guests is to keep windows closed at night, as mosquitoes can be an issue in Venice.
  • Potential for Wear and Tear: One older review mentioned rooms starting to show signs of wear and tear, although more recent reviews emphasize the beautiful and immaculate condition of the rooms. While current descriptions state all rooms are air-conditioned, one older review specifically noted a lack of air conditioning in their room, which may have been an isolated or outdated issue.

The room's AC struggled to cool the room but eventually got to a good temp. RECOMENDATION to the owners: Install "paddle" or "ceiling" fans (what we Americans call them) in all the rooms. They wil...
