8. Common Complaints

  • Check-in and Room Readiness: One guest mentioned their room wasn't ready at the stated check-in time, and a shower hadn't been cleaned, though these issues were quickly rectified by reception staff.
  • Dining Reservations: A recurring point is the recommendation to book dinner in advance, as the restaurant can be fully booked, especially on weekends.
  • Internet Speed: One review briefly mentioned slow internet.
  • Ambiance/Bar Service: A guest noted the environment could feel "a bit stiff and starchy - lacked a cosy/chill vibe" and found the bar service "very average" with a desire for more local beer options.
  • Room Size: In a few isolated instances, guests mentioned issues with room size.

Despite these minor points, there is no evidence of widespread, recurring significant complaints that detract from the overwhelmingly positive guest experiences.

Room decor was lovely, big room with added touches of tea / coffee/ fridge/ hairdryer/ iron add lovely toiletries. Under floor heating a bonus. Decor throughout hotel appeared magical with its Alice in Wonderland theme. High quality crockery. Food in orangery was fantastic and cocktails lovely. Love...

Woukd love to have given this a 5 Star rating but poor coffee facilities, ie. no coffee machine making nice Lattes was very disappointing given the price for our stay. Also to note was the breakfast... room for much improvement, bacon that did not look appetising and the fruit option looked straight out of a tin. The evening meal we had was amazing, such a contrast, and the lodge we stayed at ove...

We recently stayed at The Tempus and found the area to be amazingly beautiful. We took a chance with the weather and got lucky when we walked in the different castles and gardens in the area. The Tempus is perfect for this. We found the hotel Resturant to a bit on the pricey side and limited in selection so we only eat there one night. The food was good there and the breakfast, in the morning very...

Stayed there in October with my girlfriend. The location and territory are beautiful, modern and very well kept. They've upgraded our room for free, which was a very nice gesture. Breakfast, that was included with the room, was delicious. Highly recommend!

Beautiful bar, great staff and superb food. Well worth the money and the journey (it is tucked away in a gorgeous location). Menu caters for all tastes and is great for vegetarians and vegans. Not stayed in the rooms but if they are anything like the restaurant then they must be fab.

Really great location where food and rooms feel very special. Perhaps lacks a little of the pazzazz from our first visit a few years ago. But still a great place that enjoys being a bit different
