The hotel boasts strong ratings for cleanliness (9.0/10), comfort (8.9/10), and staff (8.8/10). Reviewers often highlight their desire to return, indicating a high level of guest satisfaction.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about several key aspects of The Source Hotel:
- Design & Ambiance: The hotel's "ultra-contemporary" and "modernist-inspired" design, which incorporates polished concrete and Baltic birch with Japanese-inspired furniture, is a significant draw. It’s recognized for its "cutting-edge design aesthetics" and a "Scandinavian aesthetic."
- Market Hall: The adjacent Source Market Hall is a major highlight, offering a diverse collection of food and beverage artisans, including a bakery, an art gallery, and various eateries. This "culinary complex" provides an extensive range of dining options right on-site.
- Rooftop Pool & Views: The heated rooftop plunge pool and hot tub are frequently mentioned, offering "stunning views" of the Rocky Mountains and the Denver skyline. The rooftop bar and restaurant, The Woods, is also a popular feature.
- Location: Its situation in the vibrant River North (RiNo) Art District is highly valued, providing easy access to breweries, restaurants, retail shopping, and art galleries. It's also considered close enough to downtown without being noisy.
3. Room Quality
The 100 modernist-inspired boutique hotel rooms are designed with an emphasis on natural light and fresh air. They feature "airy ceilings, polished concrete floors, birch cabinetry, bespoke wallpaper, and white-washed walls." Many rooms offer large windows with views of the Colorado mountains, the Denver skyline, or the neighboring market. Some rooms even include unique "rolling garage-door-style windows that can be fully opened" to the outside. Guests consistently praise the comfortable beds. Specific room amenities include air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, fridges, coffee makers, and private bathrooms with MALIN+GOETZ bath products. Skyline suites are noted for their freestanding soaking tubs, from which guests can enjoy city views.
4. Dining Experience
The Source Hotel is a true culinary destination, with numerous on-site restaurants and eateries within its Market Hall. It houses three Michelin Guide–recommended restaurants: Safta (modern Israeli), Smok (BBQ), and Temaki Den (Japanese sushi). The rooftop restaurant, The Woods, is also highly regarded for its food and service. Guests appreciate the variety, from artisanal bakeries for breakfast (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options) to diverse lunch and dinner choices.
5. Service & Staff
The hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its "great customer service" and friendly staff. Guests have highlighted staff members for being "very helpful at check-in and throughout my day" and going "above and beyond." The hospitality is frequently described as "beyond excellent" and "on point." A 24-hour front desk and concierge services further enhance the guest experience.
6. Location & Accessibility
Located in Denver's River North (RiNo) Art District, the hotel is situated in an "edgy, up-and-coming" and "vibrant" neighborhood that was formerly industrial. This area is known for its breweries, restaurants, retail, and art galleries, making it a lively and engaging location. While within walking distance of many local attractions, it is also a short ride to downtown Denver, including the Colorado Convention Center and Pepsi Center (both about 2.5-2.6 miles away). Denver International Airport is approximately 22 miles away. The hotel offers self-parking and is considered easy to access.
7. Value & Pricing
The Source Hotel is considered a luxury property with rates that reflect its upscale offerings and Michelin Key selection. While specific average prices can vary, rates for standard rooms have been seen from approximately $219 to $299 USD, and suites from $349 to $399 USD. Some sources indicate prices starting from $128 or $135, but it's important to note that these can be promotional or off-peak rates. Guests generally rate the "value for money" around 7.9/10. Given the unique design, extensive amenities, and acclaimed dining options, many guests find the experience to be worth the cost.
8. Common Complaints
While generally well-received, some recurring issues and criticisms have been noted:
- Noise: A few guests have reported that the heater in their room was "very loud and constantly ran."
- Room Amenities: The absence of a microwave in the room has been a minor complaint for some travelers.
- Ambience: One review mentioned "no ambience whatsoever" despite comfortable beds, which contrasts with the general sentiment.
- Staff/Management (Historical): Older employee reviews (from 2020) indicated concerns about poor management, high turnover, and equipment issues, though more recent guest reviews on service are positive.

Modern but industrial vibe hotel with nice rooms with Mountain View’s. The king bed was very comfortable & the rooftop hot tub was nice. There are multiple places to eat onsite but the restaurant in the 8th floor is extremely busy so we ended up eating somewhere else since we couldn’t get a table. Location is great though with lots of places nearby to walk to.

Not only was my stay amazing, but the customer service people at the front desk were incredible. They made my stay a fantastic experience. I even witnessed how they were handling an irate customer while there, and they stayed calm and professional the whole time despite the other guest refusing to listen or understand what they were trying to convey. Great staff, great environment, and some fantas...

This is a very cool, beautiful building! Full of large trees and plants. It felt like an indoor jungle. It's awesome. . However, there was a 1 hour wait, but it was a Saturday night so that's to be expected. We never ended up staying because of that, so I can't speak to how good the food was or the service. But we are looking forward to coming back here 1 day. Probably during the week when it's no...

I had a confirmed reservation booked more than nine months in advance for ETH Denver. This would have been my fourth consecutive year staying at The Source Hotel during the conference. On arrival, front desk staff refused to honor my confirmed reservation and repeatedly told me it had been “cancelled,” despite screenshots and Booking.com still showing it as confirmed. After finally being checked...

We recently stayed for two nights. The price was right and wanted to stay in a different part of Denver. We arrived early. Our room was not ready. The front desk said they would text us when it was ready. They did not. We stayed in room 702. It was a nice room with mountain views. The room initially smelled like the sewer drain was venting but after opening the windows the smell did not re...
