Expert Review: Campos Polanco
Campos Polanco, a Michelin One-Key property in Mexico City, consistently earns high praise from guests for its exquisite design, impeccable service, and prime location in the upscale Polanco neighborhood. It offers a luxurious yet intimate boutique experience, frequently described as feeling like a stylish private residence.
Overall Rating & Sentiment
Campos Polanco receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with guests often using words like "gorgeous," "amazing," "exceptional," and a "5-star experience." It boasts high scores on various review platforms, reflecting a general consensus of an outstanding stay. Many consider it a "hidden gem" and a tranquil escape within the bustling city.
Key Highlights
Guests consistently laud several aspects of Campos Polanco. The "extremely attentive staff" and personalized service are frequently cited as a major draw. The hotel's "astounding" decor and design, which blends mid-century, Art Deco architecture, and modern Mexicana, create a chic and comfortable ambiance. Its location in the heart of Polanco is another significant highlight, placing guests within easy reach of luxury boutiques, fine dining, and cultural attractions. The property's quiet and private atmosphere, despite its central location, is also appreciated. Complimentary afternoon mezcal tastings and a high-quality breakfast further enhance the guest experience.
Room Quality
The rooms at Campos Polanco are a significant point of praise, described as "very comfortable, beautiful and clean," "spacious and well-appointed," and having "astounding" decor. Each room is individually decorated, featuring plush king-sized beds with premium bedding, including Egyptian cotton sheets, and laptop-friendly workspaces. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, smart TVs with Chromecast, Sonos sound systems, Nespresso coffee machines, tea-making kits, minibars, and free bottled water. The marble bathrooms are lavish, offering bathrobes, double rainfall showers, and often freestanding bathtubs or spa baths. Some larger "Campos Residence" suites elevate the experience further with spacious lounges, balconies offering views of Líbano Garden, and fully equipped kitchens.
Dining Experience
The dining experience at Campos Polanco primarily revolves around its "very high quality" complimentary continental breakfast, served in a beautiful courtyard or lounge setting. Guests rave about the offerings, which often include fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, juice, and made-to-order eggs, toast, and espresso drinks. While there isn't a full-service on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner, the hotel distinguishes itself by offering daily complimentary mezcal tastings in the lounge and on the rooftop terrace, sometimes accompanied by snacks. Communal kitchens are also available on each floor, and some suites include private, fully equipped kitchens, allowing guests the option to cook or entertain.
Service & Staff
The staff at Campos Polanco consistently receive stellar reviews for their exceptional hospitality. They are repeatedly described as "extremely attentive," "incredible," "lovely and helpful," and "so accommodating." Guests highlight their willingness to "go above and beyond," citing instances of staff arranging birthday surprises and providing excellent concierge services. The personalized service creates a welcoming and homely atmosphere, with guests feeling genuinely cared for throughout their stay.
Location & Accessibility
Campos Polanco is ideally situated in the affluent Polanco neighborhood, often referred to as Mexico City's "Beverly Hills" or its "highest-end" district. This location offers a safe, quiet, and sophisticated residential vibe with elegant Art Deco architecture. The hotel is merely steps away from world-class luxury boutiques along Avenida Presidente Masaryk, artisan shops, and a vast array of dining options, including renowned Michelin-starred restaurants like Pujol and Quintonil. Cultural attractions such as Lincoln Park, Chapultepec Park (home to museums like Soumaya and Jumex, Chapultepec Castle, and the National Museum of Anthropology) are also easily accessible. For transportation, the hotel provides a complimentary house car service for drop-offs within a three-mile radius. While the Auditorio metro station is about a 15-minute walk, guests often find traveling by car or ride-share services more convenient for navigating the city.
Value & Pricing
Guests generally perceive Campos Polanco as offering "unbeatable value for money" and "affordable luxury" for the exceptional 5-star experience it provides. While the average room price of approximately $785 is notably higher than the Mexico City average, guests feel the quality, comfort, and personalized service more than justify the cost.
Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, some minor criticisms occasionally surface. The most common feedback is that, despite the "very high quality," the complimentary breakfast options can be "very limited in its options." Additionally, the absence of a full-service, on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner, or extensive in-room dining, might be a drawback for some guests who prefer to dine within the hotel. It is also noted that the property may not be suitable for guests with accessibility requirements.

I’ve stayed at Hotel Campos Polanco twice now and both times have been outstanding. The hotel is comfortable, stylish, and in a perfect Polanco location—close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. The rooms are amazing, modern, and very well kept, and the staff is always friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Everything feels easy and well thought out, which makes a big difference ...

So, this place is a gem. Best location in Mexico City, is only one superlative that applies to this Michelin Star experience. Rooms are unique, and creatively appointed — I stayed in two different rooms. I am still trying to track down the fabricator of the wallpaper that highlights one of the rooms. The best part is the staff. Everyone is smart, capable, and happy to please. I can’t recommend thi...

Very nice cozy room and neighbourhood. Only wished I could have stayed a bit longer. “Good morning! We hope you had a good night sleep. To brighten your day, we'd love to offer you a complimentary coffee, cappuccino, espresso, or latte. Please let us know if you would like one so we can bring it to your room.” & “Don't forget to try our artisanal house mezcal and snacks from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at b...

Had one of the best stays of my life at Campos Polanco, is one of those rare hotels that feels more like a beautifully designed private residence than a property. The interiors are warm, elegant, and impeccably curated, and the service is genuinely some of the best I’ve experienced—personal, intuitive, and never intrusive. My suite was spacious, calm, and thoughtfully detailed, with incredible be...

Slept for a couple of nights at Campos Polanco as a Staycation. Would definitely recommend as everything is walking distance and we didn’t need to use the car. The common areas are ample and really useful. As I worked from there when my girl was in the room. Everyone was super nice: Thanks!! Bed: 5 stars Bathroom: 5 stars Hope to visit them again.

What a shame a place called hotel, when they don't even have any idea about what customer service means. A very bad attitude from the two guys in front desk to potential clients, relaying this responsabilités should be a priority only for professionals when talking about customer service. So the question here would be: why to pick a "Boutique Hotel" with a promise of customized experience?, when ...
