Value & Pricing
Guests frequently commend Hotel Avancher for its "remarkable value for money," often describing it as a "3-star hotel with a 4-star experience". While average prices in Val d'Isere can be around $113, Avancher offers rooms at an average of approximately $170, a price point considered good value given the quality of the experience it provides compared to other hotels in the area. Prices for a bed and breakfast stay can start from €155 per night based on two people sharing. Guests should note a city tax of €1.87 per person, per night for those over 18, and private on-site parking is available for an additional €20 per day.
Common Complaints
Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback, common complaints are minimal. A minor point raised by some is that certain rooms might feature two single beds pushed together rather than a dedicated double bed, which some couples might prefer. While historical discussions in older forums mention past issues with Val d'Isere's general water supply, these concerns appear to have been addressed by municipal improvements, and recent reviews for Avancher do not indicate any specific problems with the hotel's water quality. Overall, the extensive renovation in 2017 and consistently high cleanliness ratings contribute to very few recurring criticisms.

We didn't stay at the Avancher this time, but we went there for dinner. And again, they didn't disappoint. Raclette is as good as it gets (coming from a Swiss), and so was the rest of the food we ate. It's a hidden gem, and despite it not being very central, it's a great walk, particularly after eating a ton of cheese.
