The general consensus for Zola Hotel - Palais de Bohème is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing their stays as "fantastic," "perfect," and "luxurious." The hotel consistently receives high ratings for cleanliness (9.2/10), staff & service (9.2/10), comfort (9.2/10), and value for money (9.4/10 on Agoda, 9.0/10 on Booking.com). The hotel's unique design and tranquil adults-only atmosphere contribute significantly to its high guest satisfaction.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of the Zola Hotel:

  • Design & Aesthetics: The hotel's "bohemian chic" and "palatial" atmosphere, blending vintage charm with modern luxury, is a major draw. High ceilings, wooden floors, contemporary furnishings, and thoughtful artistic touches create a visually stunning and comfortable environment.
  • Service & Staff: The staff is frequently described as friendly, helpful, accommodating, and professional, often going "above and beyond" to assist guests.
  • Room Quality & Comfort: Rooms are consistently highlighted as spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-designed.
  • Amenities: The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, a sauna, a sundeck, a shared lounge, and concierge services. Some rooms also feature smart TVs with Netflix.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at Zola Hotel - Palais de Bohème are a significant highlight. They are described as spacious, airy, and clean, often featuring high ceilings and wooden floors that add to the hotel's palatial feel. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, modern fittings, and stylish, minimalist, or boho-chic decor. Amenities include air conditioning, private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and tea/coffee making facilities. The four signature suites are particularly noteworthy, each designed with a distinct theme inspired by Émile Zola's works.

4. Dining Experience

While the hotel itself does not always offer on-site breakfast, guests are often provided with complimentary breakfast at nearby partner restaurants or cafes. This off-site arrangement generally receives positive feedback, with guests mentioning delicious options and a wide variety. Some reviews also mention an "onsite restaurant" and "superb onsite restaurant," specifically ZAZATAM, which specializes in modern fusion cuisine with Asian and South American influences, and is highly regarded for dinner. Room service is also available for in-room dining.

5. Service & Staff

The service at Zola Hotel is consistently lauded as exceptional. Guests frequently commend the staff for being warm, friendly, helpful, professional, and accommodating. Many instances of staff going "above and beyond" are cited, such as waiting up for late arrivals and assisting with bookings for partner restaurants.

6. Location & Accessibility

Room prices can start from approximately €136, with an average room price around $211, which is slightly higher than the average in Vienna ($185) but is considered well worth the cost for the level of luxury and service provided. The hotel is praised for providing a luxurious stay without "breaking the bank."

8. Common Complaints

While overall sentiment is positive, a few recurring minor issues have been noted by guests:

  • Off-site Breakfast: Although the quality of the breakfast at partner restaurants is often praised, some guests found the inconvenience of having to leave the hotel for breakfast, especially for early morning commitments, to be a minor drawback.
  • Room Temperature/Duvet Thickness: A few guests mentioned that rooms could be cold, even with heaters on, or that the duvets were too thin for colder weather.
  • Lack of On-site Dining for all Meals: While Zazatam is available for dinner, the hotel's main dining options are primarily off-site or through room service.
  • Limited Closet Space: One review mentioned that a room could use some extra closet space.
  • Door Locking Mechanism: A guest noted that the room door was sometimes difficult to lock and open due to its design.
  • Cleanliness under the bed: One guest reported significant dirt under the bed, leading to health concerns, although overall cleanliness is highly rated by others.

Despite these minor points, the overwhelming majority of reviews indicate a highly satisfying and memorable experience at Zola Hotel - Palais de Bohème.

Visually a dream, but the furnishings and organization are a real annoyance. The hotel is a beautiful Art Nouveau building with high ceilings, herringbone parquet floors and double doors. Unfortunately, the reality in the room was quite different: a heavily stained carpet, damaged and worn elements in the bathroom, a leaky coffee machine, and a shower whose drain floods the entire bathroom within...

Beautiful building! Nice big room, comfortable bed, and a good working shower! The room could use some extra closet space! Friendly and helpful receptionist! A little bit outside of the touristy center but super well connected to a tram and 2 metro stations. Price quality a very good deal!

I went here for a trip with my partner and mom for 4 days and it was the loveliest stay. The rooms were really nice, the staff were so helpful, and it was a great! It’s easily accessible to the city either by metro or walking. Food stores are close by too which is handy for little snacks etc. we stayed in room 205, a 2 bedroom apartment. Also there is a free sauna area which was lovely, you can ju...

I didn’t even get to stay here, but this was the WORST hotel experience I’ve had. I booked through Booking.com and informed the hotel in advance that my flight was delayed, which they had told me to do so if I was arriving late (Check-in hours are between 2-10pm). They provided a night porter’s number and instructed me to call 30 minutes before arrival. I tried calling repeatedly with NO answer wh...

We would have given this hotel the highest rating because it is truly beautiful and very well located. However, both my husband and I developed severe allergic rhinitis during our stay. At first, we thought it was simply due to the change in weather. On the last day, I dropped a ring on the floor and had to look under the bed—what a surprise! The cleaning is done only in the visible areas, and und...

I spent my honeymoon in this wonderful hotel in the suite. A wonderful structure that immerses you in the romantic, almost fairytale context of Vienna. All the service are close, restaurant supermarket and metro. Very kind and helpful staff, we lacked nothing! One of the best hotels where I have ever stayed in my life! Beautiful inside and out, clean... In short, impeccable!
