gorgeous architecture. could spend hours on the compound admiring the detail and thinking behind restoring the sugar factory with modern amenities. it's got a brutalist exterior but cosy interior. despite its beautiful facade, you can tell the property is somewhat falling to disrepair after alila handed back the reins to the property owner. glance under the vanity table and you will see the gapin...

Yangshuo Sugar House (Auruá 阳朔糖舍) is simply the best in every aspect. The architecture is stunning, the staff are incredibly warm and attentive, and every building is photogenic. You never get tired of the views. Food was some of the best we've had in all of China - strongly recommend their Sichuan dishes like Sichuan boiled beer in chili oil or mapo tofu, as well as their locally craft beer. The...

It is a beautiful hotel with an unmatched scenery. But many details are still way behind some luxurious brands. Ordered two dishes from room service but very disappointed with the food, the salad was possibly leftover from breakfast. Next day got food poisoning but the hotel denies any wrong doings, saying its my own body problem. Don't recommend it at all.

Our stay at Yangshuo Sugar House (now run by Aurua after they took back control from Alila Hyatt Group) for my birthday at the end of March was excellent and just added to my growing affection of taking trips to the nature of China. It was a memorable stay, with the Garden Villa Suite offering a luxurious retreat amidst the hotel’s beautifully landscaped gardens using the former sugar factory bui...

One of the most incredible architectural hotels we’ve ever experienced. Absolutely beautiful. The Tai Chi on the deck overlooking the river is such a beautiful memory. The people were all so lovely. Service tops. The spa is absolutely incredible and the restaurant delicious. The only minus might be the noise in the rooms since it’s on the main road. Bring your earplugs and you will be just fine.
