The St. Regis Belgrade: A Michelin One-Key Oasis of Luxury in the Heart of Serbia
The St. Regis Belgrade, a proud recipient of a Michelin One-Key designation, stands as a beacon of modern luxury and exceptional service within Serbia's vibrant capital. Opened in 2024, the hotel consistently garners overwhelmingly positive feedback, establishing itself as a premier destination for discerning travelers.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general consensus for The St. Regis Belgrade is exceptional, with guests frequently describing their stays as "unforgettable" and "beyond 5 stars". It holds an average overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Marriott's platform, with similar high ratings across other review sites like Booking.com and Hotels.com. The sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests proclaiming it the "best hotel in Belgrade".
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently laud several aspects of The St. Regis Belgrade:
- Service: The signature St. Regis Butler Service is frequently highlighted, with staff going "above and beyond" to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. The entire team is praised for being friendly, professional, and genuinely warm.
- Location: Situated within the Belgrade Waterfront, the hotel offers stunning views of the Sava River and the city skyline, especially at sunset. Its proximity to the Galerija Belgrade mall, with its array of international fashion brands, restaurants, and cafes, is also a significant draw.
- Design: The hotel's design pays homage to Belgrade's architectural heritage, blending traditional Serbian patterns with a modern aesthetic of deep blues, soft grays, and warm earth tones. The grand and opulent entrance, along with a massive one-piece winding staircase in the lobby, creates a "wow" factor upon arrival.
- Amenities: The property boasts a full-service spa, a wellness center with an indoor pool offering views, a sauna, a fitness center, and free WiFi. Complimentary mini-bar items (non-alcoholic drinks and snacks) are a much-appreciated perk.
3. Room Quality
The 119 rooms, including 17 suites, are described as beautifully detailed, elegant, and comfortable. They feature contemporary silhouettes, polished marble, and warm-toned textiles. Many rooms and suites offer expansive views of the Sava River or the city. Specific room types mentioned include the Caroline Astor King Suite with River View (990 sq ft/92 sqm) and Grand Luxe King Room with City View (452 sq ft/42 sqm). Guests appreciate the spaciousness, comfortable Frette bedding, and thoughtfully designed details. Bathrooms are noted for being expansive, with some even offering natural light.
4. Dining Experience
The dining experience at The St. Regis Belgrade receives high praise.
- Restaurants: The hotel's main restaurant, Savant Brasserie, offers a unique menu with local and international dishes. An outsourced new fine dining experience is also planned to open.
- Breakfast: Breakfast, served at Savant Brasserie until 11 AM, is consistently highlighted as "very delicious" and exceptional. It is served à la carte, with a full menu available to elite members, including a highly recommended Serbian breakfast platter.
- Bars & Patisserie: The bar, open until 2 AM, is well-stocked with friendly, informed, and internationally experienced bartenders. The Rise Patisserie offers desserts, pastries, coffee, and tea, and hosts the St. Regis signature Afternoon Tea Ritual. The quality of food and pastry throughout the hotel, with a focus on local ingredients, is exceptional.
5. Service & Staff
The service at The St. Regis Belgrade is a recurring highlight and a significant factor in its high ratings. Guests frequently use terms like "exceptional," "professional," "polite," "friendly," and "attentive" to describe the staff. The signature St. Regis Butler Service is a key differentiator, with butlers on call to fulfill guest requests. Many reviews emphasize how staff members make guests feel "truly valued".
6. Location & Accessibility
The St. Regis Belgrade is strategically located within the Belgrade Waterfront, a modern and upscale pedestrian area by the Sava River.
- Attractions: It's conveniently next to the Galerija Belgrade mall, and within walking distance of historical sites, the diplomatic area, and the business district. Nearby attractions also include Republic Square Belgrade and the Temple of Saint Sava.
- Transport: The hotel is approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, and near Beograd Train Station and Belgrade Center Station for rail and public transport connections. On-site car parking is available, though it incurs a charge.
7. Value & Pricing
The St. Regis Belgrade is considered a luxury property with pricing that reflects its 5-star experience and Michelin Key designation. Average room rates typically range from $401 to $450 per night, though they can start around €350-450. While this is higher than the average hotel price in Belgrade, many guests believe the value justifies the cost, especially given the opulent experience and personalized service. It is also noted as an excellent value for Marriott Bonvoy points redemption, with rates potentially starting around 30,000 points per night.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, some minor criticisms have been noted by guests:
- Housekeeping and Concierge: A few guests have reported issues with housekeeping not being entirely up to 5-star standards, such as a hair found in a towel, or the concierge requiring significant follow-up for restaurant bookings.
- Pool Facilities: The indoor pool, while an amenity, has been described as "nothing special" or "pretty small," with frosted windows that obscure the river view, which some see as a missed opportunity.
- Breakfast Format: While generally loved, the à la carte only breakfast, without a buffet option, was a point of mild critique for some who prefer a buffet.
- Parking Costs: The cost of private on-site parking has been noted as expensive, at around €50 per day.
- Photography Restrictions: Some guests found the hotel's restrictions on photography in public areas to be overly restrictive.
- New Property Adjustments: As a relatively new hotel (opened in 2024), some reviews acknowledge it might still be in the process of reaching its "full glory" or that certain operational aspects could be improved. One review mentioned staff appearing "uncertain, undertrained, and unable to resolve simple issues" which was attributed to management issues.
- Room Issues: Isolated incidents like room lights turning on by themselves, a slippery bathroom, or a climate control panel being out of order have been reported.

Good hotel, might be the best in Belgrade. You can see they are aiming high with their service quality, but there is a little way to go yet. The toilet paper is quite rough, for example. Consider wgac luxury rolls. Toilet brush would be handy. The breakfast menu is not balanced, look into how the smashed avo toast is usually served - it comes with eggs, cheese, hummus, etc, not alone. Bill Granger...

I had a connecting flight in Belgrade and chose to spend the night at the St. Regis Belgrade. The hotel is only about 20 minutes from the airport and is beautifully located in a central area near the river. The design and furnishings are exceptional. I especially enjoyed the food, as well as the pool and spa facilities. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Thank you, everyone, for making my stay comfortable and accommodating. It was a solid experience, even though we had a foreign delegation staying that required some unusual protocols. You guys did great and I will see you again. Until next time, Nemanja Nemanja

I stayed at this hotel and honestly expected much better because of the name and the price. What I got was very disappointing. Room service was bad. It took a long time to order and even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally came, the food was cold and didn’t taste good at all. Definitely not what you expect from a five-star hotel. The staff was not friendly. Most of the time they looke...

Beautiful hotel, service is impeccable. Best in Belgrade! the staff was so attentive and helpful! We needed rides out of the city on a busy Friday and they went above and beyond in helping us. My friends and I went for afternoon tea at a restaurant in this hotel. The cost was €120 for two people. Also added 10% service charge. We in Serbia always give tips this was never mentioned when I was making a reservation. They were incredibly restrictive about photography.
