Expert Review: The Pure Hotel

The Pure Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, a Michelin Key Selected property, offers a distinctive stay characterized by its minimalist design, attentive service, and strategic location.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The Pure Hotel generally receives a "Very Good" rating from guests, with scores often ranging from 8.4 to 8.6 out of 10 across various platforms. Guests frequently praise its cleanliness, comfort, and the exceptional staff. Its selection for the Michelin Key signifies a high-quality stay.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently highlight several aspects of The Pure Hotel. The modern, minimalist design is a major draw, emphasizing clean lines and light colors like white marble and leather, with touches of warmth from dark wooden floors. The welcoming and professional staff are frequently commended for their friendliness and helpfulness. Its location, especially for those traveling by train or attending the Trade Fair, is a significant advantage. Amenities such as the rich breakfast buffet, free high-speed WiFi, and the 24-hour access to the gym, sauna, and steam bath are also highly valued.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at The Pure Hotel are described as modern, clean, simple, and comfortable, featuring minimalist interiors. They are equipped with dark wooden floors, a Bluetooth sound box, and a flat-screen TV. Private bathrooms include bathrobes and free toiletries, and some rooms even offer bathtubs. Soundproof windows are present in some non-smoking rooms. Room types include Single, Double, and Twin, with some options featuring balconies. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and clean, well-maintained spaces.

4. Dining Experience

The hotel provides a "rich" and "amazing" buffet breakfast every morning, often cited as a highlight of the stay. During warmer months, guests can enjoy breakfast or relax on the terrace. While The Pure does not have a full-service restaurant for lunch or dinner, it features a chic and minimalist cocktail bar. Many restaurants and bars are available within walking distance of the hotel.

5. Service & Staff

The service at The Pure Hotel consistently receives high praise, with staff often described as "super friendly," "fantastic," "attentive," and "helpful". Guests have noted receiving welcome drinks upon check-in and appreciated staff recommendations for local restaurants. The team is committed to making guests happy and providing professional assistance, ensuring a pleasant stay.

6. Location & Accessibility

The Pure Hotel boasts an extremely convenient location, situated approximately 656 feet (200 meters) from Frankfurt Main Station, making it ideal for train travelers. It's also a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 10-minute walk from the Frankfurt Trade Fair. Public transportation, including the Platz der Republik Tram Stop and Central U-Bahn, is just a few minutes' walk away. The hotel is centrally located, providing good walking distance to the old town and other attractions like the Museum of Applied Arts and the Zeil shopping street. However, guests frequently mention that the immediate neighborhood around the train station can be "sketchy" or a "red-light area" with noticeable street activity, especially at night.

7. Value & Pricing

Many guests consider The Pure Hotel to offer "exceptional value for money". With an average price of approximately $123 per room, it often provides a more affordable luxury option compared to the average hotel room price in Frankfurt am Main, which stands at around $132. The included amenities such as the spa, gym, and excellent breakfast contribute to the perceived value.

8. Common Complaints

Despite the generally positive feedback, some recurring issues have been noted by guests. Noise can be a concern, with complaints about poor sound insulation leading to disturbances from early morning cleaning and street noise, especially for ground-floor rooms or those close to the reception/bar. Some guests have also mentioned uncomfortable, thin pillows and issues with dust buildup in radiators, which triggered asthma for one individual. While the location is convenient, the immediate surroundings near the train station are frequently described as a "red-light district" or "sketchy," which some guests found a little unsettling, particularly at night. Occasionally, the internet connection has been reported as unhelpfully slow.

Great location and exceptional service! I’ve stayed here twice, and both experiences were excellent. After checking out from my most recent stay, I realized I left two valuable items in the room. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure the items were safely returned to me. I can’t recommend The Pure - and their incredibly helpful staff - highly enough!

I usually avoid hotels at all costs, but WOW, the Pure really impressed me. The design is actually really thoughtful, so in a very compact 1-person room you have all you need plus the feeling of being welcome: real clothes hangers that are not made theft-proof, a window into the bathroom for natural light, a bathroom fan that actually turns off when you flip the switch, a window that opens (!!!!! ...

The room is clean and cosy. Hair dryer is a little bit old. Service also very nice. They offer guests a free drink per person at the check-in day. Location: 300m away from the central train station and far away from the "Rotlicht" zone. It's quiet at night.

Excellent hotel in a very convenient location, 300 metres from the main train station. There are plenty of good restaurants closeby. The fresh tropical fruit at the breakfast buffet was particularly appreciated, as was the welcome drink.

Excellent service, all the staff are multilingual and super helpful. Happy to furnish me with additional amenities on request (kettle, iron & ironing board etc) Clean and tidy room. Excellent value for money.

A bit rundown, and a little off the beaten path. But close quick walk to main train station. Gym is tight and sauna was out of order. But coffee maker in room, free bottled water, and upgrade to terrace room made our stay better.
