8. Common Complaints

  • Curtains/Blinds: Some guests have found that bedroom curtains or blinds do not offer complete blackout, leaving small gaps that can affect privacy, especially in ground-floor units at night.

  • Pet Fees/Policies: One guest reported an additional pet fee being billed without clear communication, highlighting the importance of reading guest agreements and check-in/check-out policies prior to booking.
  • Construction Noise: There has been construction reported on a neighboring property during business hours (Monday-Friday), which could potentially cause some disturbance.
  • Restrictions on Large Events: It's important to note a BC Supreme Court ruling in November 2022 that banned large-scale commercial events, including weddings, reunions, conventions, or retreats, at The Lodge at Terrace Beach (specifically Lot 35) to maintain the quiet enjoyment of the residential subdivision. This means the Lodge can continue to offer commercial tourist accommodation in its eight guest suites and three cabins but cannot host large events.

The only thing we would change is a door at the bottom of the stairs for privacy of the loft bedroom as any noise made in the shared area echos right up the stairs. In spite of this, we can't wait to return as this is now our preferred place in Ukee! The contactless checkin and out and online booking makes everything so...

Our ocean front cabin was absolutely beautiful. Amazing view with easy access to the beach and the wild Pacific trail out to the lighthouse. The cabin had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.

The cabins are very nice. Quite spacious and well furnished. The location is very good within trees and just steps away from the beach. Specific rating for the new restaurant, CRISP. A delicious blend of local products and French cuisine coupled with a perfect service.

Location is great with easy access to the beach and nearby trails. Staff are friendly and helpful, making the stay even better. Perfect spot if you want a quiet getaway by the ocean
