Expert Review: Soho House Nashville
Soho House Nashville, situated in a converted hosiery factory in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, offers a unique blend of industrial heritage and contemporary design, earning it a One Michelin Key rating for a "very special stay." This exclusive members' club also functions as a hotel, granting guests temporary membership access to its array of facilities.
Overall Rating & Sentiment
Soho House Nashville generally elicits a positive sentiment, particularly for its distinctive design, vibrant atmosphere, and extensive amenities. It's perceived as a hub for creatives and professionals, attracting a "glamorous creative industries" crowd. However, some guest feedback highlights concerns regarding hidden fees and a potentially less "adult friendly" or relaxing environment due to the presence of club members and their children. Some former employees have also reported significant pay discrepancies and a challenging work hierarchy.
Key Highlights
Guests frequently praise Soho House Nashville for its inimitable and thoroughly contemporary design with retro influences, and an incredible collection of contemporary art, featuring 170 pieces from 41 Tennessee-based artists. The extensive facilities, including a large pool (one of the biggest in the Soho House portfolio), a health club, a cinema, and various indoor and outdoor performance spaces, are significant draws. Its location in the burgeoning Wedgewood-Houston arts district is also a highlight, positioning it among studios, offices, and craft distilleries. The sense of exclusivity, where a room key grants access to member-only spaces, is also a notable feature.
Room Quality
Soho House Nashville offers 47 bedrooms ranging in size from "cozy" to "large loft suites." The rooms are designed to feel traditional and cozy, featuring exposed brickwork, wooden ceilings, and bespoke woven tapestries that discreetly hide televisions. Each room incorporates Nashville glamour with oversized chandeliers and industrial metalwork screens separating bathrooms. Comforts are described as being on par with any big-name luxury hotel, even if not ostentatious. In-room amenities include air-conditioning, a tea and coffee kit with house-made biscuits, a Smart TV, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, Roberts radio, and Cowshed and Soho Skin bath products. Some rooms offer views of the city, including the "Batman Building" and a giant guitar sculpture outside.
Dining Experience
The hotel features several dining options. Club Cecconi's, the signature Northern Italian restaurant, is a staple of Soho Houses globally and is the first in-house Cecconi's restaurant within a Soho House. It offers authentic Italian dishes, fresh handmade pasta, and a regularly rotating menu. May's, formerly known as The Alley, is open to both members and the public, serving American diner-inspired dishes, healthy breakfasts, smoothies, salads, and sandwiches. The main club space also offers a House menu with "House Regulars" and seasonal dishes, which can also be enjoyed poolside. Room service is available from 8 am to 10 pm.
Service & Staff
Feedback on service and staff is somewhat mixed but generally positive from a guest perspective. Employees are described by some as "fun and kind." Soho House emphasizes personalized service, with front desk supervisors expected to develop relationships with guests and respond to requests accurately and timely. However, former employee reviews highlight issues such as significant pay discrepancies, a slow work pace for servers, and an "interesting hierarchy." There was also a discrimination lawsuit filed by a former membership manager alleging racial discrimination and retaliation.
Location & Accessibility
Soho House Nashville is located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, south of downtown Nashville. This area is known for its transformation from a factory hub into an arts and creative district, with former factories now housing studios, offices, and distilleries. While a bit outside the city center, it is easily accessible by car, with Nashville International Airport about a 15-minute drive away, and the city's Amtrak station also a short taxi ride. Public bus stops are also conveniently located nearby, with the closest being a 3-minute walk away. The hotel offers paid onsite parking and valet service, and has wheelchair access to common areas.
Value & Pricing
Soho House Nashville operates on a membership model, with hotel guests receiving temporary membership privileges. Membership fees vary, with full global access costing several hundred dollars annually, and local Nashville-only memberships also available. There's also a "Soho Friends" membership that grants access to bedrooms, studios, and events. For those under 27, membership can be significantly cheaper, described as a "steal" by some. Typical hotel room rates are "room-only" and a full, non-refundable deposit is often required for bookings. While some consider the food "pretty good", the drinks, especially beer, are noted as being expensive. The overall value is often tied to the exclusive access and amenities provided.
Common Complaints
Recurring issues and criticisms include "hidden fees" mentioned in a Michelin Guide guest review. Some guests have found the environment not "adult friendly" or "relaxing" due to the presence of club members and many children. There are also sentiments that the atmosphere can be "overpriced" and "vapid" at times, particularly in relation to the clientele. Employee reviews mention significant pay discrepancies and a slow work environment. A former employee filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination and unfair wage practices. Another minor complaint noted was an expensive drink menu.

I stay at Soho House about once a month. If a room is available when I'm in town, I'll book it. Ellen and Eleanor at the front desk are excellent. They remember guests, are super warm, and handle details fast. The setup makes business travel simple. Land at BNA, take an Uber to Soho, handle all meetings and meals there, and head back to the airport the next day. You get the productivity of two o...

Private Club so access is restricted. Food and atmosphere in the dining room was excellent. Service was quite slow but it was a busy evening and we had a large group dining.

To be honest I dont like that lady come to me and told me, you can't use your phone to take a picture or video of your friends or group of (20 people) I visited with, She was mean and not nice about. That sucks/. Other than that, it's good place.

Easily the worst customer service I’ve experienced. I placed my membership on hold after being explicitly told I would not be charged for the next quarter and that only a $200 hold fee would apply. Instead, they charged both—despite clear communication. After five+ emails, I’ve received absolutely no response, no explanation, and no accountability. This isn’t a mistake; it’s negligence. Once my ...

3 stars is generous. I’ve been a member for a few years now, and most people I know are canceling or recently canceled their memberships. Soho used to be nice, but over the past couple years it’s crumbled. Parking is no longer existent, Soho has no regard for member safety in the neighborhood, quality of service has disappeared, the gym is now 50% a permanent Pilates setup that requires additional...

I didn't stay there. I ate at the restaurant. The waitstaff was very friendly, and good. The drinks were awesome. The menu had very appetizing French options. The execution of the options was not great. I had an omelet with herbs that was over-cooked and dry. Therefore, almost tasteless. My brother had a chicken dish. I think it was roast chicken. Also, overcooked.
