Common Complaints

While largely positive, some recurring criticisms have been noted:

  • Initial Design Flaws (Early Reviews): Some early reviews mentioned minor design issues in rooms upon opening, such as loose fittings, small toilet rooms, and poorly designed showers causing wet bathroom floors.
  • Wellness Area Atmosphere: While the pool, sauna, and steam bath are good, the relaxation room in the wellness area has been described as lacking atmosphere and feeling more functional than indulgent.
  • Service Inconsistencies (Isolated Incidents): Though generally praised, isolated reports mention less friendly reception staff or slow breakfast service.
  • Elevator System: Some guests have found the elevator system peculiar and a bit confusing initially.
  • Room Cleaning: A rare instance of a room not being cleaned to the expected standard was reported, though the hotel responded professionally to resolve the issue.

Annika was proactive in reaching out through message even before our arrival. Lara and the bell hopper were excellent in greeting us and explaining everything during our check in. We were surprised with the room upgrade upon arrival so we were very grateful for that!! The breakfast restaurant managers and waiters and waitresses all provided us great service as well. The hotel has a great location....

Superb luxury hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! Great location too. All the staff from check in to breakfast (which was delicious by the way) to housekeeping were professional, welcoming and friendly. In particular though Philipp from concierge was spectacular and was so helpful in assisting me with my bags being delivered due to KLM losing them on my flight. Will definitely be back!

I stayed a while ago and don't usually care to write hotel reviews, but was so disappointed by the experience that I felt it would be a disservice to not write one. I usually love Sofitels and due to a cancelled layover business flight, decided to stay last minute for less than 10 hours before an early morning flight. When I arrived in the evening the men checking me in were rude, dismissive and w...

A brief return stay in one of the hotel's opera suites. The room still remains one of the better ones but sadly showed considerable wear and tear. Furniture scratched throughout, veneer peeling and TV cabinet wouldn't stay open. Some more maintenance and it could be back to its initial state in no time. The welcome amenity was nice and appropriate. The main problem however was the F&B offer at th...

I would say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Amazing, attentive service that goes above and beyond. The room was immaculate and just the little touches made everything special. We stayed for two nights and every time we left the room and went out, when we came back in the evening the room was prepared beautifully for us. Breakfast was lovely, and such a beautiful interior. Now every h...
