Resotel Salamanca: A Motorsports-Themed Oasis with Exceptional Service

Resotel Salamanca, a Michelin Key Selected property, stands out as a unique and highly-regarded boutique hotel in Salamanca, Spain. It consistently receives high praise for its distinctive motorsports theme, personalized service, and comfortable accommodations, making it a memorable stop for travelers.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for Resotel Salamanca is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing their stays as "superb," "fantastic," and "amazing." The hotel boasts an impressive guest rating of 19.4 out of 20 on the Michelin Guide, reflecting a high level of satisfaction from verified guests. Many reviewers express a strong desire to return, highlighting the hotel's charm and exceptional quality.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of Resotel Salamanca:

  • Unique Motorsports Design: The hotel's "racing dreams" theme, filled with neon, memorabilia, and vintage photography, creates a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. This distinctive design, a personal project of the owner, Juan Carlos, is often cited as a major draw.
  • Exceptional Service: The staff, including the owner, are repeatedly praised for their friendliness, helpfulness, and attentiveness, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: Resotel is highly accommodating for pets, offering dog bowls and treats in rooms, and even welcoming dogs in the associated restaurant.
  • Amenities: A seasonal outdoor swimming pool on the rooftop with panoramic views, a garden terrace, and electric vehicle charging facilities are valued additions.
  • Associated Restaurant: The "PizzaPizza" restaurant, located a short walk away and under the same ownership, is a significant highlight, offering excellent food.

3. Room Quality

The 11 rooms at Resotel Salamanca are described as spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with a blend of cartoon, efficiency apartment, and bionic fantasy aesthetics. Guests appreciate the high level of comfort, including high-quality mattresses and cotton linen, ensuring a good night's sleep. Rooms are well-appointed with modern conveniences like flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, docking stations, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Unique touches like colored toilet paper, rubber duckies, and light-up globes add to the whimsical experience. Some Junior Suites offer additional luxuries such as Alessi-designed bathroom fixtures, separate showers, and premium Rituals hygiene products.

4. Dining Experience

Resotel Salamanca offers a complimentary continental breakfast that is consistently described as excellent, comprehensive, and varied, often including gluten-free and vegan options upon request. For other meals, guests highly recommend the nearby PizzaPizza restaurant, owned by the same family. This restaurant, despite its name, is noted for serving more than just pizzas, with steaks being a particular highlight. It also extends the hotel's pet-friendly ethos by welcoming dogs.

5. Service & Staff

The service at Resotel Salamanca is a recurring theme of exceptional praise. Guests consistently highlight the staff's professionalism, warmth, and genuine eagerness to help. The owner, Juan Carlos, is frequently mentioned for his passion for the hotel and his active involvement in ensuring guests have a fantastic experience. Reviewers often remark on feeling like old friends, indicating a highly personalized and welcoming atmosphere.

6. Location & Accessibility

Resotel Salamanca is strategically located in Villares de la Reina, approximately 3 to 6 kilometers from the historic center of Salamanca. This location, situated off the A-62 and A-66 highways, makes it an ideal "oasis on the way" for travelers on longer journeys, such as between Paris and Lisbon or London and the Costa del Sol. While it is uniquely situated "over a gas station," this is often seen as a practical convenience rather than a drawback, especially for those traveling by car. The hotel offers free private parking and accessible facilities. Public transport links are also available nearby.

7. Value & Pricing

Resotel Salamanca is generally considered to offer excellent value for money, given its unique design, high-quality amenities, and outstanding service. While prices can vary, a typical nightly stay for two adults in early 2026 was found to start from approximately £74.75 (€86) to $121, including taxes and fees. Guests feel the unique experience and level of detail justify the cost.

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points have been raised by guests. One review mentioned that the mattress might be considered hard and the pillows rather small for personal preference. Additionally, some note that there isn't "much around the hotel" in its immediate vicinity. However, these are typically outweighed by the exceptional service, unique character, and easy accessibility to Salamanca city center.

A memorable stay, exquisitely decorated boutique hotel with racing memorabilia and though I am not a fan, I found it very beautifully and thoughtfully done, highlighting historical collective moments as well as personal intimate details by the owner through beautifully laid out photographs and posters with collector items making this somehow a museum dedicated to racing history . Superb room with ...

On our way across Europe towards Portugal, we discovered the RESOTEL via Google Hotel Search. The description sounded interesting, but the reality surpassed all imagination. A lovingly furnished hotel run by a passionate racing fan: framed photos, posters and newspaper articles from the racing scene everywhere. Engine parts, a petrol pump, a motorbike mounted on the wall and lots of great light i...

We've stayed here with our dogs numerous times on our way to and from Portugal. We love it! The rooms are spotlessly clean, well equiped and with lovely comfy beds, which are much appreciated after hours in the car. Juan Carlos and the rest of the team are fantastic, very friendly and welcoming and to top it off, the breakfast is fab too.

Great design family hotel with theme 'racing'. Full of pictures and artifacts that make up for a small museum ;-) Had a nice room, good breakfast, friendly service. Good dedicated green bicycle lane to the historic center (15 min.) Quiet location day and night. Gasstation in front, free parking alongside. Small shop with groceries and other necessities. Top job from Juan Carlos and his team !

This is our second time staying here this year, we actually now plan our travels around staying here! It is an absolute gem of a hotel, the staff and owner Juan are so welcoming. The place is full of memorabilia. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are perfect. Really there is nothing to fault. We went to the Pizza restaurant last night, another must do and following on with the theme of the ho...
