3. Room Quality
The rooms at Madison Taipei are consistently described as beautiful, clean, spacious, and comfortable. They feature modern designs with hardwood floors, king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, Bluetooth speakers, and rain showers. Guests particularly enjoy the large bath towels, bathrobes, fluffy slippers, and excellent shower water pressure. Some rooms offer views of Taipei 101. The presence of modern temperature-controlled toilets with bidets is also a highlight for many. Complimentary water, soft drinks, and snacks are often provided in the room. While generally spacious, some reviewers mention the rooms might be a little smaller compared to Western hotels. Rooms are noted for being quiet, ensuring a restful sleep.
4. Dining Experience
The dining experience at Madison Taipei receives mixed, but generally positive, feedback. The hotel's on-site restaurant, Gustoso, offers authentic Italian dishes and a sophisticated ambiance. Room service is available and praised for its excellent food quality, though it can be expensive.
Breakfast is a point of contention for some. While some guests describe the breakfast selection as "rich and delicious" and "sumptuous," others find the buffet selection limited and the quality of some hot food items lacking for a hotel of this caliber. Specific criticisms include sausages ruined in semi-boiling water and hot food appearing like leftovers. However, other reviews praise the breakfast buffet as "darn near spectacular" and "excellent." Staff at breakfast have also been noted by some as needing to be more attentive and friendly. The lounge on the first floor offers a happy hour with free snacks, sweets, soft drinks, beer, whiskey, and wine.
5. Service & Staff
The service and staff are consistently highlighted as one of Madison Taipei's strongest assets. They are described as exceptionally warm, attentive, professional, friendly, helpful, and highly courteous. Reviewers frequently mention their efficiency in handling requests, quick responses from housekeeping, and seamless check-in processes. Many appreciate that the staff are highly conversant in English. The "MADISON KNIGHT" concierge team is noted for delivering excellent service, trained by "Les Clefs d'Or" concierges.
6. Location & Accessibility
Madison Taipei is situated in the Da'an District, a prime location along serene, tree-lined avenues. It offers a peaceful sanctuary while providing easy access to various attractions and amenities. The hotel is a short walk (around 6-8 minutes) to MRT Red and Blue line stations, making it convenient for exploring the city. Nearby attractions include Taipei 101 (a 15-minute walk or short cab ride), night markets, and numerous restaurants and shops. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located around the block for essential services. An airport shuttle service is available for a fee.
7. Value & Pricing
Madison Taipei is generally considered a good value for money, despite being a premium hotel. While hotel rates in Taipei can be high, guests feel that the superior service, stylish accommodations, and exclusive amenities justify the investment. The hotel's facilities and value for money received impressive scores of 8.8. Some guests, however, have noted a significant price hike since Marriott took over, with prices nearly doubling, leading some to consider other options for budget reasons. Typical prices are higher than the average hotel room in Taipei, reflecting its upscale nature.
8. Common Complaints
While overall reviews are highly positive, a few recurring issues or criticisms have been noted:
- Breakfast Quality and Variety: This is the most consistent complaint, with some guests finding the buffet selection limited and the quality of some hot food items not meeting expectations for a hotel of this standard. Some experienced a salty smell in sweet omelets, suggesting cross-contamination during cooking.
- Pillows: A minor but mentioned complaint is that the pillows provided are very soft, which may not suit all guests.
- Hallway Ambiance: One reviewer described the elevators and hallways as "a little dark" and potentially "creepy" due to a "dark and moody vibe."
- Housekeeping Consistency: While cleanliness is generally excellent, one review mentioned noticeable dust in the room despite daily housekeeping and an ice bucket left overnight.
- Room Smell: One guest reported a humid smell in their initial room, which was attributed by staff to the "oud wood" used in the room.

Very beautiful, clean hotel! Enjoyed our stay here! They gave new bottles of water for free everyday. The location is okay though. It’s inbetween to MRT stops on the red line. The bus is right outside the hotel though so that’s super convenience! There is a 711 nearby so that’s super helpful!

I had a great stay at Madison Taipei. We only stayed for one night after we landed in Taipei. It’s located at a very convenient spot, close to a metro station, night market, and shopping malls (101). The room is on the smaller side, but it’s still clean and comfortable. The front desk was really helpful and accommodating for our early check-in request so we could rest up after our 14-hour flight.

The location is about 7 min walk from the red Xinyi Anhe station. Quiet and safe area. The mini bar was complimentary. The front desk staff were super friendly. The rooms and bathroom were spotless. The robes and slippers did it for me. Will def stay again when back in Taipei!

Disappointing Stay Despite Platinum Status It’s autumn in Taiwan, and the hotel’s central cooling system limits room temperature to 23°C — which might be fine for some, but not for me. When I first raised this issue, I was moved to another room, only to find the same problem — 23°C is the lowest it can go. The staff eventually brought me a fan, but that’s hardly a solution for a Marriott property...
