Expert Review: LOGE Westport
LOGE Westport, a Michelin Key Selected property in Westport, United States, has garnered a strong reputation as a unique and inviting destination, especially for outdoor enthusiasts. It successfully blends a laid-back, surf-centric vibe with modern comforts and an impressive array of amenities.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general consensus for LOGE Westport is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently rating it in the "Very Good" to "Exceptional" range (typically 8.0-9.0 and above on various platforms). Travelers often describe the atmosphere as "unique and fun," "simple, classy and comfortable," and a "great place to hang out." Many appreciate its feel as a "cool, laid-back beach house" tailored for those who love the outdoors.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently praise LOGE Westport for its thoughtful amenities and distinctive atmosphere.
- Amenities: A major draw is the Nordic Spa, featuring a hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge, though guests should note it has experienced temporary closures. The property also boasts communal fire pits with complimentary firewood and s'mores kits, an outdoor entertainment stage, and Traeger grills for guest use. For the active traveler, free bicycle rentals are available, as are gear rentals for surfing (wetsuits, boards), kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Remote workers and those needing to stay connected benefit from excellent coworking spaces and free, high-speed Wi-Fi. The property is also notably pet-friendly, offering amenities like water bowls and mats for furry companions.
- Design & Atmosphere: LOGE Westport is celebrated for its "unique and fun atmosphere" and "surf vibe." The design is described as a "cabin-like setting" with "nicely remodeled" and newer construction, featuring "Scandinavian beachy interiors." The communal spaces and overall environment are designed to foster a social atmosphere and encourage guests to explore the outdoors.
- Location: The hotel's location is a significant highlight, being "very close to the beach and shops and restaurants." It's nestled near Westhaven State Park Beach and Westport Light State Park, making it an ideal "surfing basecamp" and perfect for other water sports enthusiasts.
3. Room Quality
The rooms at LOGE Westport are frequently commended for their cleanliness, spaciousness, and comfort. Guests highlight the recent remodels and new construction, contributing to a fresh and appealing aesthetic. Unique design elements, such as hammocks and gear racks for outdoor equipment, are particularly popular. Rooms typically feature separate sitting areas, free in-room Wi-Fi, and hardwood flooring. Thoughtful touches like boot drying racks, shelving, and in-room coolers cater to the adventurous traveler. Some rooms even include cozy (fake) fireplaces and comfortable couches.
4. Dining Experience
While not a full-service restaurant, LOGE Westport's on-site Sands Cafe offers "third-wave coffee and expertly brewed espresso alongside a short but powerful selection of breakfasts and snacks." Guests have specifically praised the "amazing" morning coffee and delicious breakfast sandwiches. Additionally, the presence of a covered outdoor kitchen with a community grill provides guests with options for preparing their own meals.
5. Service & Staff
The service at LOGE Westport consistently receives high marks. Staff members are described as "truly exceptional: personable, helpful, accommodating, and utterly professional." Many guest reviews specifically "say great things about the helpful staff," highlighting their friendliness and welcoming demeanor.
6. Location & Accessibility
LOGE Westport is conveniently located in Westport, Washington, approximately two and a half hours from Seattle, making it an accessible coastal getaway. Its position on South Montesano Street allows for easy exploration of Westport's attractions. The hotel is very close to Westhaven State Park Beach and Westport Light State Park, and a mere 5-minute drive from the beach, making it ideal for surfing and beach activities. The property itself is single-level with well-lit and stair-free paths, contributing to good accessibility.
7. Value & Pricing
LOGE Westport is generally perceived as offering good value for money. The brand aims to provide a more affordable alternative to luxury hotels, with rooms often priced around $150, catering to travelers who prefer to save money for outdoor gear and experiences. However, it's important to note the "FAFO fee" (For All Fun Outdoor Fee) of $25 + tax nightly, which grants access to amenities like the spa, co-working spaces, firewood, and s'mores kits. One guest did find a single night stay, exceeding $300, to be pricey for what they considered a "glorified motel."
8. Common Complaints
While highly rated, LOGE Westport does have a few recurring criticisms:
- Spa Availability: The Nordic Spa, while a major highlight, has faced temporary closures or issues with all components (hot tub, sauna, cold plunge) being fully operational.
- Bathroom Issues: Some guests have reported issues with showers flooding the bathroom.
- Pest Control: Occasional complaints about insects like bees, mosquitoes, and earwigs around the property and, in a few instances, inside rooms.

- WiFi Reliability: While generally good, there have been isolated reports of WiFi issues.
- Climate Control: Some rooms lacked air conditioning during summer months, though improvements are reportedly underway.

Long story short: Guests beware. Complete review: My recent experience with LOGE Westport was disappointing, and while part of the staff tried to make things right, the follow-up from guest relations erased that goodwill. During my stay, the room was freezing; the heating element barely worked despite being set to 90 degrees. At the time, the on-site team did what they could and were responsive,...

Rooms are modern and cozy, my sons said they felt like they're in a luxury hotel there. My only recommendations would be that they add A/C or better fan options because even on cloudy mid-60 degree days it was quite muggy inside whenever we arrived back to the room. Also would have liked staff to check in daily to replenish towels and toilet paper, with a decently long stay of 3 nights and 4 days....

The rooms are garbage don’t be fooled by the pictures. Do yourself a favor and spend an extra $30 and stay at Saltwater Inn. My experience: I didn’t receive any check in information before arriving to my room. And the host was no where to be found and nobody was picking up the phone. I spent a good hour trying to figure how to get in my room. When I finally got access I was disappointed by an old...

CAUTION - NO ONE IS ON THE PROPERTY FROM 5pm to 8am. This is not disclosed, and had I known, I would not have booked. When I asked if there were security personnel, or anyone on the property after 5pm, I was told "No we're contactless check in." Contactless checkin is not universally understood to be that no one is on the property. When I said this I was told "I'm not responsible for website copy"...
Response from the owner
Thank you, Dianna, for your feedback. We will review our wording regarding the contactless check-in process.<br><br>Regarding the amenity fee, we offer a variety of amenities on-site, including s'more...

First off don’t book through trip advisor! Before we got there they gave us our key code, but said there were some issues with the key pad and they left a key out. The code thankfully worked but there was no physical key . The room was really nice my kids loved it. The problem we had was that the pull out bed was dirty with sand and dirt! The tv remote didn’t work so no tv. There was black hair on...
Response from the owner
