They artfully blend Scottish tradition with modern luxuries, featuring traditional charm with elements like tweed headboards and tartan quilts, alongside fine antiques and fabrics. Comfort is paramount, with amenities such as extra-large double beds, hypo-allergenic premium beds with Frette Italian sheets, and pillow menus. Dining Experience

The on-site restaurant, MARA (named from the Gaelic word for sea), is highly celebrated for its fine dining and use of the "finest of ingredients from local sources across the Highlands Region". The menus, which are ever-changing and inspired by Scotland's waters, fields, forests, and skies, are meticulously planned for flavor. Guests have been "blown away" by tasting menus featuring locally sourced mackerel, crab, pork cheek, hogget, and gorse, often incorporating edible flowers and herbs grown in the hotel's own garden. Breakfasts are also delicious, offering options like full English/Irish breakfasts, pastries, porridge, and perfectly cooked omelets. Common Complaints

Based on numerous guest reviews, there are no significant recurring complaints or criticisms about Links House at Royal Dornoch. One minor mention noted early-season staffing issues that temporarily limited dining options to the MARA restaurant on one occasion, but this was not a complaint about the quality of MARA itself, which was highly praised. The consistent high praise across all aspects suggests a well-run establishment with very few, if any, discernible drawbacks.
