It's frequently lauded as a serene escape in the bustling historic center, offering guests a relaxing and refined experience.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for Las Casas B+B Hotel is overwhelmingly positive. Guests describe it as a "really pretty" establishment with "very relaxing vibes and nice service," often referring to it as a "perfect hideaway in the historic center." Many highlight its ability to feel like a "tranquil oasis" or "tropical paradise" despite its central location. Verified guest reviews indicate a "Very Good" rating, scoring 8.3 out of 10.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently rave about several aspects of Las Casas B+B:

  • Service & Staff: The staff receives high marks for being "charming and thoughtful," "excellent, friendly, helpful, and attentive," and providing "very attentive, professional service." Personalized attention is a recurring theme in reviews.
  • Location: Its prime location in the "heart of Cuernavaca's historic center" is a major draw, placing guests "just steps from iconic landmarks such as the Palacio de Cortés, the Cuernavaca Cathedral, and the Borda Garden." Despite being central and near potentially lively areas, the hotel manages to maintain a quiet, "oasis feeling" within its grounds.
  • Design & Ambiance: The hotel's "great style" and "beautiful grounds" are frequently praised. It features a "contemporary, minimalist décor" that thoughtfully highlights the underlying colonial architecture, creating a unique and sophisticated atmosphere.
  • Amenities: The property offers two pools (one for guests), a full-service spa known as "The White" (recognized in Marco Beteta's guide), and the acclaimed HOUSE restaurant and bar. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, daily housekeeping, concierge services, and parking options.

3. Room Quality

Rooms and suites at Las Casas B+B are described as "big with comfy beds and good showers." They are "sharply outfitted in shades of white and gray" with a blend of colonial architecture and "contemporary, minimalist décor." Guests appreciate the "bright, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated" spaces, finding them perfect for relaxation. Suites are noted for being "palace-like" with comfortable beds, high ceilings, and some even feature bathtubs. All accommodations come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, safes, and bathrobes. Rooms are also reported to be soundproofed.

4. Dining Experience

The on-site "HOUSE" restaurant is a significant highlight, consistently reviewed as "so good" and considered among Cuernavaca's finest dining establishments. It offers a "Californian-inspired" and "Mexican-Mediterranean" fusion cuisine. Breakfast, which is included with the stay, is highly rated as "excellent," "generous, fresh, and delicious." Cooked-to-order options are available, and the margaritas are frequently singled out as "DELICIOUS." The hotel also offers a popular Sunday Brunch. However, some past guests have found the restaurant to be "hit-or-miss at best" regarding food quality or value, despite the pleasant dining atmosphere.

The hotel is approximately 1.5 km from the city center and just an hour's drive from Mexico City, making it an accessible getaway. Despite being surrounded by city life and close to bars, the hotel creates a remarkably quiet and peaceful environment once inside.

7. Value & Pricing

As a Michelin Key property, Las Casas B+B offers a luxurious boutique experience. Room rates generally vary, with reported starting prices ranging from $2,295 MXN for a standard room to $4,495 MXN for a Suite Plus, plus taxes. Kayak has shown rates starting around $147 USD. The inclusion of a highly-rated breakfast adds to the perceived value. While many guests find the experience worthwhile, some reviews suggest that certain "installations are not worth the price" or that the dining can sometimes prioritize "glamour over food quality or value."

8. Common Complaints

While generally highly rated, some guests have noted a few recurring issues:

  • Hot Water: A significant complaint for some guests has been the inconsistent availability of hot water, with showers needing to run for several minutes to achieve even tepid temperatures, and a reported lack of hot water in bathroom sinks.
  • Noise from outside: Although the hotel is praised for creating an oasis-like atmosphere, some guests in certain rooms have experienced noise from nearby bars, even with soundproofing efforts.
  • Maintenance: One reviewer mentioned "cheap materials" and areas needing maintenance, suggesting that some aspects of the hotel's physical condition might not always align with its pricing.
  • Restaurant Consistency: As noted, a few guests found the restaurant's food quality or value to be inconsistent.
  • Internal Communication: A minor point of criticism was the occasional lack of seamless communication between different hotel departments, such as reception, spa, and restaurant.

Visiting from the United States for our honeymoon our stay at La Casas B+B was excellent from start to finish. Due to a flight change we arrived at 8:30 in the morning. Enrique (?) at the front desk said we wouldn't be able to check in until 1 pm but suggested we have breakfast at the restaurant. The food was immaculate and the waiter was so attentive and thoughtful. We spent the day exploring the...

I stayed during weekdays so it was clamer than usual which i loved, especially during covid. I had booked a Queen room but i asked if there is a complementary upgrade, and they were able to upgrade me to a Suit. It was so beautiful and lovely. The ho...

Only had lunch there once; great service, beautiful interior design and a very nice menú. We had the hummus, guacamole and pizza margarita (pizza was really good, nice thin crust and fresh basil leaves), also a mojito (absolutely delicious, they really put a lot of mint in it)

Very nice boutique hotel right near the City Center in Cuernavaca. The area around the hotel is safe and walkable and close to multiple key attractions. The building is unassuming from the outside, but once inside, especially in the rooms, it is very luxurious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and often greets you by name. The food at the "House" restaurant is excellent, and the set...
