It consistently achieves strong scores across categories such as location (9.6), cleanliness (9.1), comfort (9.2), and staff (8.7). Key Highlights

Guests are particularly enamored with the hotel's distinctive interior design and the vibrant energy it exudes. The public spaces, including the "Living Room" area, are frequently highlighted for their double-height ceilings, exposed brickwork, plush furnishings, and a unique blend of modern fixtures and classically inspired décor that recalls the "golden age of the Twenties." The hotel's bar and restaurant areas are also central to its appeal, creating a lively dining and nightlife scene. The attentive and helpful staff, along with excellent restaurant recommendations, contribute significantly to guest satisfaction.

Room Quality

The 141 rooms and 14 suites at HOTEL ZOO BERLIN are praised for their comfort, cleanliness, and individual design. No two rooms are exactly alike, offering a unique ambiance with some featuring high ceilings and exposed bricks from the original structure, while others boast a more modern feel. The decor typically features a palette of creams and greys accented by a unique feature color, complemented by retro-chic furniture and tufted headboards. Guests consistently report comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with bespoke toiletries, Italian bath salts, and amenities like Nespresso coffeemakers and stocked minibars. Superior Rooms may include dark floorboards, Maison Martin Margiela robes, rain showers, and heated tiles. Suites, some as large as 105 sqm, offer generous luxury with separate living rooms, fireplaces, and freestanding bathtubs, often overlooking interior courtyards with whimsical ivy-covered animal figures.

Dining Experience

The dining experience at HOTEL ZOO BERLIN is a significant draw, primarily centered around GRACE Restaurant and GRACE Bar. GRACE Restaurant is celebrated as a "lavish and super cool" fine dining establishment, popular with both hotel guests and locals, offering an internationally influenced menu with Asian and European flavors. Breakfast, served in a beautiful and relaxed setting, is consistently described as exceptional, fresh, and tasty. The GRACE Bar revives the "spirit of the Roaring Twenties" with its vibrant atmosphere and reinterpreted classic cocktails. Additionally, a funky rooftop bar provides guests with views over the city.

This puts guests amidst a plethora of luxury boutiques, high-end shops, galleries, and world-class restaurants and cafes. Its proximity to transport links, including the Zoologischer Garten underground station (approximately 1640 feet away), as well as bus and hop-on-hop-off stops, makes exploring Berlin's diverse attractions highly convenient. The Berlin Zoo and Tiergarten, the city's largest park, are also within walking distance. Onsite paid parking is available, though reservations are not possible, with alternative parking options provided if needed.

As a 5-star property, HOTEL ZOO BERLIN is recognized for offering exceptional value for a luxury experience. Room prices typically start from €215-€227, with an average room price around $211. This is often cited as a competitive rate compared to the average hotel room price in Berlin. Suites range from approximately $494 to $629.

Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, some minor criticisms have been noted. A recurring comment pertains to the lift's feature of blinking lights, mimicking paparazzi, which some guests find less appealing. Additionally, a few guests have observed that certain rooms can feel a bit dark, potentially lacking ample natural light. Some visitors also expressed a preference for walk-in showers over the bathtub-shower combinations found in some bathrooms.

Definitely our favorite place to stay in Berlin. Great stylish atmosphere, very professional, friendly staff which fulfills your wishes before you expressed them. Location is very central on Ku‘damm with subway station in front of the door and trainstation around the corner. Night in the bar over the weekend is a must. Great party! Rooms are great and comfortable!

The hotel itself is well located and the rooms are spacious and amazing. The beds are comfortable and very quiet. I don’t sleep well in hotels but this was absolutely amazing. One thing that was my biggest complaint are the staff. The front office girls are extremely rude and cold. They hardly talked or asked questions, they basically just wanted you to check-in/check-out and leave. Not once did ...

Very good location and nice rooms. Well maintained and clean. BUT!!! The loud music from the club on the roof is unbearable at night. Even with windows closed the noise is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. And it goes on until 1-2am.
