1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general consensus for Hotel Villa Cipriani is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing their stays as "wonderful," "exceptional," and "perfect". Review platforms show high ratings, reflecting strong guest satisfaction across various aspects of the hotel. The sentiment is one of deep appreciation for a truly elegant and hospitable experience.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about several key aspects of Hotel Villa Cipriani. The spectacular panoramic views of the rolling hills and valleys, dotted with olive and pomegranate trees, are frequently cited as a major draw. The exquisite and beautifully maintained gardens, which change with the seasons and feature fragrant roses and cypress trees, provide a serene backdrop and are a highlight for many. The attentive, friendly, and professional staff are another consistent highlight, ensuring a personalized and memorable stay. Furthermore, the hotel's rich history, once the private residence of English poet Robert Browning, adds to its unique old-world charm. The heated infinity pool with a jacuzzi, offering stunning valley views, is also a highly praised amenity.
3. Room Quality
Hotel Villa Cipriani offers 28 or 29 elegant guestrooms and suites, split between the main villa and the Casa Giardino. Rooms are described as luxurious, spacious, and well-appointed, featuring high ceilings and antique furniture that showcase fine Italian craftsmanship, including charming hand-painted Vietri tiles in the bathrooms. Modern comforts such as air conditioning, bathrobes, slippers, and Wi-Fi are seamlessly integrated with the historic decor. While some guests noted that bathrooms, though stylishly tiled, might not be as grand as the public areas, the overall comfort and design are highly appreciated. Room options include views of the countryside, courtyard, or garden, with Grand Deluxe Suites offering private balconies and breathtaking panoramas.
4. Dining Experience
The dining experience at Hotel Villa Cipriani is consistently rated as excellent. The main Villa Cipriani Restaurant serves a seasonal menu of authentic Mediterranean flavors, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests particularly enjoy dining on the large outdoor terrace, which offers unforgettable panoramic views. Breakfast is a generous affair, featuring an extensive buffet of fruits, pastries, breads, and cold meats, complemented by a menu for hot, made-to-order items like pancakes (crepes) and eggs Benedict, all served with excellent coffee. The American Bar, reportedly a copy of Harry's Bar in Venice (as the Cipriani's originally started this hotel), provides a stylish setting for aperitifs, including classic Bellinis, or a nightcap. For lighter fare during summer months, the Pool Bar Rosmarino offers snacks and drinks. Notably, the classic beef carpaccio was invented by the hotel's first manager, Giuseppe Cipriani.
5. Service & Staff
The service and staff at Hotel Villa Cipriani receive exceptionally high praise, often cited as one of the hotel's strongest assets, with a staff performance rating of 9.5. Guests describe the team as friendly, helpful, polite, professional, and genuinely caring. They are noted for going above and beyond, anticipating guest needs, providing personalized service, and offering excellent recommendations for exploring Asolo and the surrounding region. From check-in to concierge services, housekeeping (including turndown service), and restaurant staff, the hospitality is often compared favorably to much larger luxury hotels worldwide.
6. Location & Accessibility
Hotel Villa Cipriani is ideally situated in Asolo, a charming medieval hilltop town often referred to as the "Village of 100 Vistas" due to its magnificent views of the surrounding Veneto region. The location offers a peaceful and sophisticated alternative to the bustling cities, while still being easily accessible. It is just a few steps or a 5-minute walk from the historic town center, allowing guests to explore Asolo's Renaissance villas, chic shops, cafes, and the monthly antique market. Asolo serves as an excellent base for day trips to the Prosecco wine route, Treviso, Venice (approximately one hour away), and Padua. The hotel provides convenient transport facilities, including airport transfer services from Treviso Airport (approx. 45 minutes) and Venice Marco Polo Airport (approx. 1 hour), as well as a shuttle service for local exploration. Private parking, bike, and car rental services are also available.
7. Value & Pricing
Hotel Villa Cipriani is considered a premium luxury option in Asolo. The average room price is approximately $423, which is higher than the average hotel room price in Asolo (around $242). Despite the higher cost, guests generally perceive it as offering exceptional value for the unrivaled experience it provides, including its exquisite setting, superior service, and high-quality amenities. Pricing can fluctuate seasonally, with August being the most expensive month and October typically offering the cheapest rates.
8. Common Complaints
While guest feedback is overwhelmingly positive, isolated comments occasionally surface. One guest noted an "initial impression" that the hotel "might be a bit dated" but still had a "wonderful time". Another review cited a slightly lower "comfort" rating (6.0), though it was qualified as subjective. However, such minor criticisms are rare, and many reviews actively commend the hotel for gracefully maintaining its historic glamour while offering modern comforts. Some guests even explicitly defend the property, stating that any critical reviews must come from those with "impossible standards". Overall, there are no recurring or significant complaints that detract from the hotel's stellar reputation.

A small charming, romantic hotel in a pretty town. Quiet oasis with a beautiful garden and an outdoor pool with great views. Because of its location in an historic small place, driving to and from the hotel is somewhat difficult. The breakfast can be better with more vegetable options.

The pool was warm and inviting and the lounge chairs were very comfortable. The people at the front desk were always helpful and polite. Our room was very tiny, but clean. It had everything we needed. The shower was small as well (a ha...
