This boutique hotel, with its tranquil setting and acclaimed dining, generally garners overwhelmingly positive feedback for its exceptional service and picturesque location.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The general consensus for Bajaloglia Resort is highly positive, with guests frequently describing it as "amazing," a "real gem," and "perfect." It boasts excellent ratings, including a "Wonderful" 9.1 out of 10 on Booking.com and an "Excellent" 9.3 on Trivago, reflecting strong guest satisfaction. The resort is celebrated for providing a peaceful and relaxing experience.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently praise the resort's spectacular location, offering stunning 180-degree views of Castelsardo, especially magical at sunset and night when the village glows. The service and staff are frequently highlighted as "top-notch," "super friendly," "helpful," and "attentive." The dining experience, particularly the Michelin-recognized restaurant, is a major draw. The peaceful setting, lovely aquamarine swimming pool, and beautifully manicured Mediterranean gardens with relaxation areas also contribute to its charm.
3. Room Quality
Bajaloglia Resort's 24 rooms are air-conditioned and feature private balconies with sea views, offering a secluded space to admire the scenery. Many rooms are described as spacious, clean, and comfortable, with excellent sound insulation. Guests appreciate the premium bedding, ensuring a restful sleep. In 2025, Classic, Superior, Junior Suite, and Deluxe rooms underwent renovations to enhance comfort and aesthetic appeal. Junior Suites, in particular, now boast more generous spaces with private whirlpool tubs and solariums, providing a luxurious retreat with sea views. While generally pleasant, some older reviews mention that the decor in certain areas and rooms could feel a bit outdated or mismatched, with suggestions for modernization.
4. Dining Experience
The on-site "L'Incantu" restaurant is a significant highlight, recognized by the Michelin Guide for its exceptional Mediterranean cuisine. Guests rave about the outstanding food quality, particularly the fresh fish and local Sardinian dishes, often describing meals as "incredible" and "far above expectations." The varied menu offers both sea and land specialties, presented with care and elegance. The included breakfast is consistently praised for being "great" and "delicious," with excellent options, including catering for dietary needs such as gluten-free. The restaurant's large windows and open-air terraces provide stunning sea views, creating a memorable dining atmosphere. The resort also has a passionate and knowledgeable sommelier who receives praise for wine pairings.
5. Service & Staff

Many guests felt welcomed from the moment they arrived, highlighting the staff's dedication to making their stay perfect.
6. Location & Accessibility
Perched on a hilltop, Bajaloglia Resort offers a strategic and peaceful location with unparalleled views of the medieval village of Castelsardo, Doria Castle, and the Gulf of Asinara. Castelsardo itself is a charming medieval village, ideal for exploring northern Sardinia with its narrow alleys, artisan shops, and panoramic vistas. While offering tranquility and altitude, it is a short drive to the town center. The resort provides a complimentary shuttle service to nearby beaches like Castelsardo and Lu Bagnu, enhancing accessibility. On-site private parking is available.
7. Value & Pricing
Bajaloglia Resort is considered to offer "exceptional value for money." While prices can vary, the average room price is around $181, which is often lower than other hotels in the immediate vicinity. Rates can start from approximately EUR 178. Guests find the overall experience, especially given the stunning views, high-quality dining, and excellent service, to be well worth the cost.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, some recurring criticisms, particularly in older reviews, mention that certain aspects of the decor and furniture could be outdated, suggesting a need for an overhaul to fully match a luxury experience. Specific examples included "garish yellow paint in the bathroom," "mauve walls," and "red leather and curtains in the bedroom" in one review from September 2023. Some guests also noted minor issues such as worn bathrobes/towels or slow shower drains. One guest also felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere in the evening, while another reported issues with ants and uncomfortable beds with foam toppers. However, these appear to be less frequent compared to the widespread praise.

Amazing location, friendly and professional staff and management, very good breakfast with lots of choices at the buffet. The junior suite room with view of Castelsardo is absolutely worth the money paid. We had a great time here for our honeymoon.

We spent three nights here for our honeymoon and can't have imagined a better place to be. The views are stunning, the villa was beautiful, breakfast was so varied and tasty, the pool and surrounding area have wonderful little secret pockets of seating and sunbeds for relaxing. The restaurant is excellent. A peaceful oasis we'd recommend to anybody.
