3. Room Quality

Hotel Daniel Graz offers rooms that are consistently described as clean, cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with a "smart luxury" concept. Standard amenities often include a large walk-in shower, safe box, clean towels, hairdryer, and free Wi-Fi. Many rooms feature charming balconies, some painted in vibrant colors, and air conditioning for comfort. Soundproofed rooms contribute to a peaceful stay. However, some guests have noted that rooms can be too warm. The open-space bathroom concept, often featuring glass partitions or sliding doors, has been mentioned as potentially lacking privacy, with some finding the toilet small and without adequate ventilation. While some reviews mention Nespresso machines and minibars, others surprisingly noted the absence of a refrigerator or coffee pot in their rooms.

Guests consistently commend the breakfast for being "good," "excellent," "varied," and offering "great choices" of both hot and cold options. Additionally, a new restaurant, "il gusto di vivere," is set to open, with a temporary closure and guest upgrades to a sister hotel planned from January 19 to February 9, 2026, during renovations. The hotel's location is a significant asset. It is situated directly adjacent to Graz Hauptbahnhof (main train station), making it extremely convenient for those arriving or departing by train. The underground tram station is just outside the hotel, offering quick and easy access to the city center and other attractions. While the hotel is not in the "scenic part of town," the city center is a manageable 10 to 25-minute walk away. The vibrant Lend neighborhood also offers nearby supermarkets and a variety of restaurants. Private parking is available for a fee, and the hotel provides electric vehicle charging stations.

7. Value & Pricing

Hotel Daniel Graz is frequently highlighted for its excellent value, with guests considering it "affordable" and "worth the money." While prices can vary, a 1-night stay for two adults typically ranges from approximately $73.67 to $97, excluding taxes and fees. Basic rooms have been noted to start around €69. March is generally considered the cheapest month to stay, while June tends to be the most expensive.

8. Common Complaints

While largely positive, some recurring criticisms include:

  • Room Temperature: Several guests have found their rooms to be too warm.
  • Bathroom Design: The open-plan bathroom concept with glass partitions or sliding doors has been a point of concern for some regarding privacy, with mentions of small toilets and a lack of ventilation. Additionally, some rooms may have a step up into the bathroom, which could be an issue for guests with mobility concerns.
  • Inconsistent Amenities: While some rooms offer Nespresso machines and minibars, other reviews mention a lack of a refrigerator, coffee pot, or kettle in certain accommodations.
  • Staff Interaction: A solitary negative review noted issues with staff politeness and early cleaning reminders.

Friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered in all my travels. Only stayed one night between trains but it was a great experience. Awesome breakfast. But really - the staff is incredible.

We loved the hotel & room. As always when we travel to Europe, there are things that are unique, we find that part of the fun of traveling! The staff were so friendly and helpful, everyone we encountered. The room was clean and comfortable. The best was the location and ease for getting to the center and to the next city we visited. Very friendly and helpful lady at the desk. Room was comfortable and the beds were very good. The breakfast has a wide choice of products and of great quality. The hotel is situated in the centre, close to the central station. We had an excellent stay at a very affordable price. Recommended!

Nice hotel with unique character and original ideas. I loved that they produce and sell their own honey, offer bike rentals, and explain the hotel rules clearly on a one-pager. But what stood out most to me is how they’ve preserved some original design elements of the hotel. It gives the place personality and sets it apart from those uniform, look-alike hotels. The only downside for me was the ba...

I came here for work in September, only for one night. I arrived late and left early, but there was staff there at all times, which made everything easier. Staff was also very nice and helpful, top tier service imho. Since Graz isn't too far from where I live, chances that I will need a hotel there are rather low. But if I need a room there, Hotel Daniel will be my first choice!
