Room Quality

The 14 guest rooms, spread across the main house, an adjacent lodge, and poolside garden suites, are designed with comfort and elegance in mind. They are described as spacious and chic, featuring king-size beds dressed with soft-cotton sheets, thick waffle robes, a well-stocked minibar, Nespresso coffee machines, tea-making facilities, and Cowshed bath products. Design elements often include Farrow & Ball paint shades or wallpaper, and some rooms boast modern four-poster beds, wood-burning stoves, working fireplaces, or in-room roll-top bathtubs. Many rooms in the former theatre part of the hotel offer impressive sea views.

The dining at Foresters Hall is a significant draw. The hotel features a Michelin-recommended Brasserie by Smoking Lobster, which focuses on Mediterranean fare using local and seasonal produce. Guests have praised dishes such as line-caught sea bass, local crab risotto, poached cod with smoked mussel velouté, and sublime pork belly. Portions are noted as generous, and the wine list is extensive and expertly curated, often sourced from a local Cowes shop.

We spent two days in Sara and Peter’s lovely hotel and everything was charming, it really felt like a getaway. The food itself would be worth the visit, the seafood was one of the best we had in a while! The location was very convenient and we enjoyed all the great tips the hosts gave us. The pool gives a nice Mediterranean twist to this English riviera town! Warmly recommend.

Called in for s drink and had a very warm welcome, fantastic coffee, local Island blend, great value, not ridiculous hotel prices as some places charge, and a relaxing hour in this beautiful hotel. Must return soon to sample the food.

From the location, the rooms, the property, food…no notes for foresters hall. Centre of luxury on the cutest Isle of Wight, and the sweetest owners right on the property. I especially appreciated the art, decor, and was very hard to leave the gorgeous pool area.

They even have a tea pot and cups in one of the drawers. The bathrooms are exquisite with huge baths and walk in showers. But the best part is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and kind.
