- Design & Ambiance: The hotel's fantastic design utilizes natural materials like rammed earth and reclaimed wood, creating a peaceful environment with lush gardens, fountains, and art installations.

3. Room Quality
All accommodations at Bardessono are spacious suites or villas, foregoing traditional "inferior rooms." These modern and plush spaces are designed with comfort and luxury in mind, featuring:
- Spa-like Bathrooms: Many rooms boast expansive bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, steam showers, and even private outdoor showers in spa suites. Some are even designed to function as private spas with pullout massage tables.
- Thoughtful Amenities: Rooms include cozy gas fireplaces, lavish living spaces, private balconies or courtyards, 100% Egyptian cotton Fili D'oro Linens, REN bath products, and 55-inch HDTVs.
- Sustainable Design: Rooms feature light-filled spaces and custom furnishings, with an emphasis on natural tones and earthy elements. Villas also offer private heated plunge pools.
4. Dining Experience
Lucy Restaurant and Bar, named after the Bardessono family matriarch, is the hotel's on-site dining establishment. It focuses on "field-to-fork" cuisine, utilizing locally sourced ingredients, including those from its certified organic garden, with a regularly changing seasonal menu.
- Breakfast: Guests can enjoy a full breakfast menu with options like chilaquiles and breakfast tagine, or a complimentary breakfast bar selection of pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea.
- Dinner: Highlights include dishes such as ahi tuna carpaccio, honey nut squash, and risotto.
- Bar: Lucy also features a bar offering creative drink concoctions and wine tasting on Friday nights. While an older review from 2012 mentioned struggles with service and an uninspired menu at Lucy, more recent feedback points to a positive dining experience.
5. Service & Staff
The service at Bardessono is consistently highlighted as a major strength. Guests describe the staff as "OUTSTANDING," "impeccable," "attentive," and "very kind and helpful." Reviewers frequently mention personalized and intimate service, with staff going above and beyond, such as providing great tours upon arrival and quickly resolving issues like a heater malfunction. Concierge services are readily available to assist with a variety of arrangements, from winery visits to hot air balloon adventures.
6. Location & Accessibility

The hotel provides complimentary transportation within Yountville and offers bicycles for guests to explore the area. Major airports like San Francisco, Oakland, and Sacramento International are within a 90-minute drive. Valet parking is available for an additional fee.
7. Value & Pricing
As a luxury property and a Michelin Two-Keys hotel, Bardessono's pricing reflects its high-end offerings and exceptional experience. Average room prices hover around $1,124 per night, though rates can vary significantly. Midweek rates have been noted to start around $450, while specialty suites like the Olive Suite can cost upwards of $1,850 nightly. Prices typically rise by about 30% in high season (April) and drop by around 31% in low season (November).
A daily destination fee of $72 USD plus tax is applied, covering amenities such as high-speed internet, fitness center access, pool and whirlpool access, a welcome glass of wine, and complimentary local transportation and bicycles. A 2.5% credit card processing fee also applies to all transactions. While the cost is significant, guests generally feel it's a worthwhile investment for the personalized service, luxurious accommodations, and prime location.
8. Common Complaints
While overall reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few minor points or older criticisms have been noted:
- Dining (Historical): An older review from 2012 indicated that Lucy Restaurant and Bar, despite a remodel and new chef, initially struggled with service and menu execution. However, more recent reviews indicate a positive dining experience.
- Pool Size: Some reviewers have described the rooftop pool as a "tiny lap pool," although it is appreciated for its views and amenities.
- Pet Fees: High fees for pets have been mentioned as a potential point of contention for some guests.
- Coffee Makers: Coffeemakers in rooms are available only upon request.
- Occasional Closures: One recent review from 2025 noted that the pool and gym were closed during their stay, though guests could use facilities at a sister hotel.
- Noise: While the hotel strives for privacy, a Reddit discussion from 2025 about another nearby hotel mentioned potential issues with thin walls/floors, but this was not specifically attributed to Bardessono in the same discussion where Bardessono was highly recommended.

Simply the best. The service is outstanding, from the moment you are greeted by the personnel opening your car door for you. No, before that: I spoke with concierge, Matt, for almost an hour BEFORE our stay, planning our transportation for tours and visits during our stay! Upon arrival, Beto toured the grounds with us to ensure we had the lay of the land and set us up in our suite. The attention ...

This is cross-posted from our review of Lucy since the restaurant is on the property and management continues to ignore attempts to address this. Dining-wise, we had a mixed experience here. The ambiance and interior of the restaurant is pretty nice, and the food itself was quite good. However, service was a bit lacking. We were rarely checked on and often waited for quite awhile at various poin...

Incredible stay, great check-in, we rented a car but it was very nice that the had a "shuttle" for the local area (shuttle meaning a brand new lexus), very cute town, did a morning bike ride with their bike, great massage, close to great restaurants / wineries. Rooms always were clean we came back.

It is an excellent spot for lunch indoors or Al Fresco. The patio areas are so relaxing, and the water fountains are soothing. The whole property has a Platinum LEED Certification. It is worth stopping for lunch or dinner at Lucy’s, their main restaurant. I got the chance to tour one of their suites, and they have tasteful decor, spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms, and a jacuzzi.

Have stayed at this property several times since it first opened, but on my most recent stay, I had one of the best service experiences. Jordan Swanson went above and beyond to make sure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. He recognized that the room we had requested would be next to the upcoming construction, so he called me to coordinate a backup plan. He was even able to secure us a suite a...
