Some rooms lacked mini-fridges or alcoholic beverage options, only offering room temperature tap water. Additionally, in colder months, some guests found their rooms to be "very cold" and suggested more heating or blankets were needed. While the tranquil location is a highlight, some guests mentioned that there isn't much directly "going on around the hotel itself" and it requires a drive to the nearest town. One review also commented that the hotel's immediate exterior, being on a "busy road," might not initially possess the "chocolate box appeal" often associated with Cotswolds counterparts. Furthermore, on occasion, some menu options might be unavailable after a busy period.

We had a brilliant stay for Valentines. Without asking we had our room upgraded to one of their suites. Fabulous views of the river & fields beyond. Staff friendly & helpful. Food was excellent loved the oysters and sweetheart sweet. Beautiful romantic hotel surrounded by beautiful countryside. Would love to visit again, thank you for a really wonderful stay.

Fantastic breakfast, great location. We were very kindly upgraded to a room with a freestanding bathtub and it was great. Ate at the Crown which was on site and they had a half price offer on food, which was impeccable, from Mains to Dessert, everything was great and gave a great cosy winter vibe. Some outdoor bits between reception and the room hence a little chilly if you're trying to get aroun...

I’ll be brutally honest, this place really isn’t what it’s hyped up to be on social media in my own personal experience. Came here with my girlfriend for the valentine’s menu & was utterly disappointed. The only good thing was the two oysters.. my medium steak was actually really cold and tough. The tartar was a 3/10 with the rye bed tasting like it was expired, I’ve certainly had much better. My ...

She also booked the ' Cotswalds Celebration package' which should have included upgrades, dinner and breakfast, bubbles and chocolates. It was odd the bubbles were there in room upon arrival but not the chocolates. She had to enquire why . There was som...

Very disappointed , Don’t like leaving a poor review, but after visiting this restaurant, the it was Very below average We had French onion soup and Popcorn, cauliflower, I would give them both 2/10 at most. The French onion soup was just water., Main course had chicken pie and a steak 5/ 10 The steak was so tough it was hard to cut through never mind to chew it … To top it off, we paid extra ...
