8. Common Complaints
While largely positive, some recurring criticisms and issues have been noted by guests:

- Room Discrepancies: Some guests have reported standard rooms feeling smaller than expected or poorly lit, and some bathrooms with large walk-in showers lack bathtubs.
- Amenities Access/Service: Occasional feedback mentions difficulty locating certain amenities or limited service at the rooftop pool when it's overcrowded. Some minor issues with thermostat control and non-motorized blackout curtains have also been noted.
- Minibar Pricing: The minibar, while well-stocked, is often cited as being expensive, with some items priced as full bottles.
- Dining Consistency: While generally excellent, a few specific breakfast items, such as a vanilla bean yogurt parfait at Nine at The National, have received negative feedback.

We booked a suite at Thompson Dallas for Valentine’s Day hoping for a special, romantic night. Instead, it was honestly really disappointing. The bed sheets had visible holes in them. Not small imperfections — actual holes. In a suite. And the bathrobes in the room were dirty. That completely killed the mood. For a hotel that presents itself as luxury, this is just not okay. Valentine’s Day is s...

I cannot say enough good things about the team at the Thompson Dallas. We recently held our company summit here, and the timing coincided with a massive ice and snow storm that effectively shut down the city. While the weather was chaotic outside, it was "business as usual" inside the Thompson. We later found out the hotel was short-handed because many employees couldn't make it in, and several o...

My fiance and I came here for our anniversary and we loved it. The staff was very nice, the spa was serine, and the catbird as well as the daisy were great spots for food and drinks. We found out the pool is heated! The rooms are nice, more spacious than anticipated and plenty of decor to make you feel like you aren’t in a hotel shell room. We will come back here on our next trip.

I recently stayed at the Thompson Hotel and attended the Catbird NYE event, and I'm writing to express my significant disappointment with several aspects of my experience. Check-in and Valet Issues: Check-in was extremely slow, which set a poor tone for the stay. Additionally, we were required to use valet parking due to the NYE event, with no alternative parking options provided. A manager from t...

I just booked a long 4 day weekend "staycation" at The Thompson. Their National Suite was amazing and the entire lobby is like a work of art! Their decor, location, staff and food was second to none! We went mid November and enjoyed their heated pool and hot tub! Their cabanas were nice and comfy. Their restaurants inside the Thompson were spectacular and we enjoyed trying different dishes and ev...

A posh hotel with skyline views, perfect for a staycation in downtown Dallas. From the professional valet folks to the long decked out lobby entrance, you truly feel like the most important person in the room. I was on the 18th floor with an amazing view of downtown Dallas. The Room: Comfortable beds (bit on the soft side). As others have stated, there are not a lot of outlets in the room and I ...
