The sentiment is one of genuine enjoyment and a strong desire to return.

Guests consistently love The Verb Hotel for several standout features:

  • Unique Design & Vibe: The hotel embraces an authentic rock-and-roll theme with museum-quality memorabilia from the David Bieber Archives, music posters, and an overall lively, retro atmosphere.
  • Record Players in Rooms: A much-loved amenity, each room includes a record player and a curated selection of vinyl, with thousands more available from the lobby library.
  • Heated Outdoor Pool: A rare find in Boston, the year-round heated outdoor pool and spacious deck are a significant draw, appreciated even in colder weather.
  • Exceptional Service: The staff repeatedly receives accolades for being incredibly friendly, helpful, attentive, and going the extra mile to make stays memorable.
  • Prime Location: Its proximity to Fenway Park is a major highlight, making it ideal for baseball fans and concert-goers.

Room Quality

The rooms at The Verb Hotel are described as stylish, clean, and comfortable, blending retro elements with contemporary amenities. While some reviews mention them being on the smaller side, they are thoughtfully appointed. Key features include record players, flat-screen TVs, small mini-fridges, and Keurig coffeemakers. Bathrooms are clean, modern, and brightly lit, offering glass showers and C.O. Bigelow toiletries. Some rooms also feature private balconies or pool views. The "Backstage" area offers unique stationary trailers with plush beds, seating areas, and outdoor patios.

Dining Experience

The Verb Hotel features Hojoko, a rock-and-roll Japanese izakaya, which serves sushi, robata grilled yakitori, and street food small plates, paired with craft cocktails, sake, wine, and beer. Hojoko offers lunch and dinner service, and also provides room service from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Guests report feeling like "VIP rockstars" due to the outstanding customer service. The valet service is also noted for being efficient and pleasant.

Location & Accessibility

The Verb Hotel boasts an "unbeatable" location in the vibrant Fenway neighborhood, directly across the street from Fenway Park. This makes it incredibly convenient for attending Red Sox games or concerts at nearby venues like the House of Blues and MGM Music Hall. It's also within comfortable walking distance to numerous restaurants, bars, Boston University, Northeastern University, and the Museum of Fine Arts (about half a mile away). Public transportation, including the Fenway T station, is easily accessible.

Value & Pricing

While The Verb Hotel offers a unique and high-quality experience, some guests consider its pricing to be on the higher side, particularly for valet parking. Room prices can range from approximately $88 to $1230, with recent bookings averaging between $182 and $360. The value is often justified by the prime location, unique amenities, and excellent service.

Common Complaints

While overall reviews are highly positive, a few recurring issues or criticisms include:

  • Valet Parking Cost and Availability: The valet parking fee of $73 per night with limited availability is a frequent point of contention. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis and not guaranteed, with additional charges for cars left past checkout.
  • Room Size: Some guests find the rooms to be relatively small.
  • Water Pressure: One guest noted that the water pressure in the shower "could have been better."
  • Accessibility for Second Floor: A guest mentioned difficulty carrying bags up stairs to a second-floor room as there was no ramp or elevator.
  • Handicap Accessible Showers: One guest unknowingly booked a handicap accessible unit where the shower had no curb, leading to the room flooding.
  • Potential Noise: While generally quiet for a rock-and-roll themed hotel, rooms facing the inner courtyard can potentially be noisy on Fenway game days.

Such an incredibly cool hotel. They are completely committed to the rock & roll bit, right down to the bag the extra TP is in (Rock & Extra Roll). Super friendly staff, great relaxed vibe, not corporate feeling at all. I am told the heated pool is amazing, my wife and daughter enjoyed it. Very convenient location across the street from Fenway. We got a fantastic deal on a random Thursday in Februa...

This is the third time my girlfriend and I have stayed at the Verb. Every time was a perfect 10 experience. VIP trailers are so fun! Pool is awesome in summer or winter. Staff is always VERY friendly and accommodating. Location is clutch. I live 10 mins away, and have stayed 3 times just because it’s so fun, and there are so many great bars and restaurants within close walking distance. Amazing pl...

This is by far, the coolest hotel I've stayed in. The lobby is cozy and has guitars available to use if a creative moment strikes. Music memorabilia fills the main corridor and more framed items line each hallway. The pool is hot and cozy, even on the coldest nights. The rooms are clean and well sized. The staff (Jake & McKenzie) are friendly and helpful. The valet parking, although expensive, is ...

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel from pre-check in all the way to check-out. My room was not ready since I did arrive early but I was called as soon as it was and my luggage that was on hold was already placed in my room. Such a cute music vibe, there’s even records you can choose to take to your room and play on the record player. Coffee and water available all day and breakfast include...

Such an awesome Rock themed hotel. We stayed in the Backstage trailers, and they were truly worth the cost. Fenway is your backyard. The hotel is just a 2 minute walk from the MGM Music Hall, and many restaurants and bars. I 100% recommend staying here. The employees are super nice, and the hotel is just amazing!
