The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort, a Michelin Key Selected property, consistently earns high praise for its serene ambiance, exceptional service, and stunning natural surroundings, making it a highly recommended retreat in Krabi, Thailand.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The resort garners an overwhelmingly positive sentiment, with guests frequently describing it as a "hidden paradise" and an "exceptional stay." It holds an impressive overall rating, often exceeding 9 out of 10 on various platforms, with particular commendation for staff performance, cleanliness, and comfort. The Tubkaak is celebrated for offering a peaceful, quiet, and luxurious experience, ideal for couples and honeymooners seeking relaxation and a connection with nature.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of The Tubkaak:

  • Service & Staff: The staff is frequently highlighted as outstanding, kind, professional, attentive, and going "above and beyond" to ensure a memorable stay.
  • Location & Scenery: Its secluded beachfront location on Tubkaek Beach, backed by the Hang Nak Mountain and offering breathtaking views of the 13-island archipelago in the Andaman Sea, is a major draw. The sunsets from the beach are particularly noted as fabulous.
  • Design & Ambiance: The resort embraces a natural, eco-conscious concept with traditional Southern Thai architecture, blending local woodwork and stone with elegant Thai décor. The tropical gardens and well-maintained grounds contribute to a tranquil oasis.
  • Amenities: Highlights include a stunning free-form outdoor pool, a private beach area with sun loungers, and the L'escape Spa offering a range of treatments. Non-motorized water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding are often available, along with yoga classes and a fitness center. The complimentary minibar on arrival is a nice touch.

3. Room Quality

The 59 rooms and villas at The Tubkaak are described as beautiful, well-appointed, spacious, and very comfortable. They are tastefully designed with a Thai feel, often featuring high vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and elegant décor. A distinctive feature in many rooms is the outdoor sunken bathtub with a separate shower, which guests love for its romantic and private feel. Rooms also typically include air-conditioning, satellite TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines, and a beach bag with towels and flip-flops. Premier Pool Villas and Beach Pool Villas offer ultimate privacy with their own pools.

4. Dining Experience

The resort boasts two beachfront restaurants: The Arundina, offering Thai and European dishes, and Di Mare, which provides Latin European and Italian options. Both restaurants are praised for delicious and thoughtfully prepared cuisine, often using fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. The daily breakfast buffet at The Arundina is consistently rated as excellent, featuring a wide selection of pastries, tropical fruits, made-to-order omelets, and local delicacies. Romantic private dinners on the beach can also be arranged.

5. Service & Staff

6. Location & Accessibility

The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort is situated in a tranquil and secluded location directly on Tubkaek Beach, providing a peaceful escape. It is approximately a 45-minute drive from Krabi Airport. While offering a sense of seclusion, it is also about a 20-minute drive from the more lively resort town of Ao Nang, where more dining and entertainment options are available. The resort's setting provides magnificent views of the Hong Islands and is ideal for nature lovers, with hiking opportunities on the nearby Hang Nak Mountain.

7. Value & Pricing

While considered a luxury boutique resort, The Tubkaak is generally viewed as offering good value for its quality service and amenities. Average room prices can range significantly based on room type and season, with reported prices from approximately $145 to over $900 per night for larger villas. For instance, an average room price of $285 has been noted, offering exceptional value compared to other Krabi luxury accommodations. Some guests, however, have found the restaurant prices to be a bit high for the portion size, quality, and service, given the resort's somewhat isolated location.

8. Common Complaints

Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, a few recurring issues have been mentioned:

  • Sun Loungers: A common complaint is the limited number of sun loungers by the pool and on the beach, leading to guests waking up early to reserve them with towels, which can be frustrating.
  • Privacy in Rooms: Some ground-floor rooms may lack complete privacy, with guests noting that people can see into rooms when blinds are open.
  • Restaurant Pricing: While the food quality is often praised, some guests feel that the on-site restaurants are overpriced for the portions and overall value, especially given the limited alternative dining options nearby.
  • Staffing at Arrival: A recent review mentioned an instance of no staff being present at the front entrance to assist with luggage or offer a welcome drink upon arrival, suggesting potential staffing shortages at times.

We stayed 5 nights at The Tubkaak Krabi in a beachfront pool villa, and it was everything we hoped for – calm, beautiful, and deeply relaxing. The setting is stunning: right on the beach, facing the limestone islands, with a peaceful, almost timeless atmosphere. Our villa was spacious, private, and perfectly designed for switching off. Having our own pool just steps from the beach made it very ha...

The room was spotless and we loved the outdoor shower. The staff are truly amazing, there are too many names to mention, but we’ve had exceptional service from Liala, Nan, Mai, Guide, Thita, Supa and they have been great fun. The food has been excell...

We just had a fantastic time here. Service was excellent. Location is great. The beach is relatively quiet and the set up of beach lounges is great for hanging out and sunset drinks. I did free yoga classes which were chill. Breakfast was great though dinner was a little disappointing. Would definitely recommend this resort if you are after a fancy, stress-free holiday. We only stayed 2 nights but...

Absolutely fantastic. Gorgeous setting and beach. Rooms were comfortable, spacious and well looked after by the housekeeping staff. Just one negative; there was some algae in our rooms pool. Maybe a sign of low chlorine levels. Main pool was fine. The staff were all amazing and an asset to the hotel. Big thank you to Guide in the restaurant. She was so friendly and helpful. Food was always well pr...
