Its Michelin Key status signifies a very special stay, highlighting its high design and upscale amenities.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently highlight several standout features:

  • Design & Ambiance: The hotel is lauded for its modern and stylish design, featuring "photoshoot-ready public spaces" and mid-century modern design cues.
  • Location: Its direct proximity to the Gaislachkogel cable car offers convenient ski-in/ski-out access in winter and immediate access to hiking and biking trails in summer.
  • Amenities: The "LE FEEL" spa, with its indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam bath, and panoramic fitness room, is a major draw for relaxation. The "THE VUE" Sky Bar, offering stunning views of the Ötztal Alps, is also a guest favorite.
  • Spacious Suites: The fully equipped suites, often described as spacious and comfortable, contribute significantly to guest satisfaction.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at The Secret Sölden are primarily suites, praised for their spaciousness, modern design, and comfort. They come in either a "wood-forward alpine or bold-colored cosmopolitan style" and are fully equipped with kitchenettes, seating areas, living rooms, and often a terrace or balcony. Additional amenities include Nespresso coffee machines, free WiFi, heated floors, separate dining areas, and bathrobes. Guests frequently comment on the cleanliness and comfort of the beds. Some suites also feature freestanding tubs.

4. Dining Experience

The culinary offerings at The Secret Sölden are centered around the LA'LIV restaurant and THE VUE Sky Bar:

  • LA'LIV Restaurant: This serves as the heart of the resort, offering a varied breakfast buffet with vital, vegan, savory, and sweet options. In the evening, LA'LIV provides a casual fine dining experience with exquisite yet uncomplicated French-Alpine fusion cuisine. Many guests find the restaurant "exceptional" with "delicious food very well prepared". It also offers snacks and drinks in the afternoon.
  • THE VUE Sky Bar: Located on the upper floor, this bar offers panoramic views of the mountains and serves classic drinks, excellent cocktails, and sometimes special culinary menus like "Taste of Asia".

Pricing can be substantial, with superior rooms sometimes ranging from $561 to over $1,000 per night, depending on the season and booking. The inclusion of the Ötztal Inside Summer Card for stays between mid-June and mid-October adds significant value, offering free use of cable cars and access to local pools and lakes.

8. Common Complaints

Despite the high praise, some recurring criticisms include:

  • Service Consistency: A few guests have reported issues with cleaning staff rushing into rooms or not performing thorough daily cleaning, as well as staff at breakfast being inattentive.
  • Spa/Pool Closing Times: Some guests find the spa and swimming pool closing at 8 PM too early, especially after a day of skiing.
  • Dining Variety: While the food quality is generally good, some guests have desired more variety or simpler options for dinner, and sometimes less salt.
  • Pool Temperature: One review mentioned the water in the pool/spa was not warm enough, particularly the outdoor section in winter.

This is a brand-new hotel and it’s absolutely beautiful, designed with great taste and attention to detail. The spa and the heated pool (inside and outside) are excellent and really contribute to a relaxing experience. The underground parking is a big plus, especially if you’re arriving by car. Breakfast is good, and the entire team is extremely friendly and helpful, always doing their best to ac...

I find this structure to be exceptionally beautiful (the spa, the pool, the interior design) and it provides basically everything you need. I am giving a 3-star rating solely because the pillows and bed are extremely uncomfortable. In a high quality hotel, If I specifically choose a king-size bed, I expect a true king-size experience. I do not consider it professional to label twin beds pushed to...

I stayed here last July with my wife who celebrated a special birthday. Franzi and Nora were exceptional with their customer service, looking after us and directing us to the areas for best hikes etc. They actually went out of their way to leave a surprise birthday cake in our chalet. Location was fantastic … would highly recommend this accommodation.

Absolutely great hotel. Amazing location, just a 5 minute walk from the ski station. Beautiful spa area, nice rooms. The service was polite and helpful. The breakfast could be better, but it still is ok. Overall a great option in Solden.

Excellent hotel with a world-class, 2 story spa. Giant family suites, perfectly designed, clean and quite. The only negative is that they run rooms extremely hot with no thermostat control. Your only way to reduce the heat is to open windows. While this isn't a ski in / out, it's a 2-3 minute walk to gondola (in gear).

Outstanding vacation experience. We, four people, stayed for 5 days in the brand new and wonderful designed retreat. The hotel management team around Penelope did an amazing job to feel as welcomed by minute one. Both cars got unloaded, welcome drinks fresh prepared and all set for an amazing holiday trip. The hotel itself is furnished with a lot of design thinking and love for details. Our rooms ...
