  • Bathrooms: Luxurious private bathrooms often include heated floors, walk-in showers, and high-quality Malin + Goetz toiletries. Some suites boast clawfoot tubs for a truly indulgent experience.
  • Space & Storage: Rooms offer plenty of storage space, with some featuring walk-in wardrobes, making them suitable for longer stays.

4. Dining Experience

The dining experience at The Publishing House is a significant highlight, particularly the breakfast.

  • Breakfast: A heroic home-cooked breakfast is served each morning in the light-filled common area. The menu changes daily and can include delicious options like burrata scramble, smashed avocado on sourdough, bacon and asparagus frittata, veggie omelets, or smoked salmon crepes. A buffet of freshly baked pastries, berry muffins, fresh fruit, and cereals is also available.
  • Complimentary Snacks & Drinks: A 24-hour butler's pantry provides guests with complimentary pressed coffee, a variety of teas, water, soft drinks (including La Croix), and a never-empty cookie jar with homemade treats.

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor considerations have been noted:

  • View: Some guests have mentioned that the views of the Downtown Core or Millennium Park are not ideal from the B&B.
  • Suitability for Children: It is generally suggested that the B&B might not be ideal for young children, though well-behaved teenagers are acceptable.

Our room, Everleigh, was spacious and gorgeous. The bed was beyond comfortable and we enjoyed baths in the immaculate, spacious, clawfoot tub. Breakfast was made to order, and everything was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend eating at Aba...

I just don’t know if they make a more perfect hotel / bnb experience. The rooms are gorgeous the spaces are warm and playful lots of good nooks for reading and relaxing outside of your room. The community space upstairs had pugs and fireplace. Every staff member was amazing. Everyone was so wonderful. I can’t wait to stay here again.

The perfect spot in the West Loop. We wandered around the great neighborhood, ate incredible food, and came back to the coziest spot to sleep and rest. Breakfast was amazing and made to order. The details are all so thoughtful, and the hospitality will make you feel like you've found a little sanctuary in the middle of the city. Incredible place. We're already planning another trip:)

For the price, I was really impressed. Comfortable, clean, well-appointed room, friendly staff, easy check-in/out experience, quiet, great location. I did not eat the complimentary breakfast as I was in a hurry but it smelled really good from a floor away. Would absolutely stay again.
