Guests frequently praise the hotel's super glamorous Art Deco design throughout, which creates a nostalgic and luxurious atmosphere. Its prime location directly on Sunset Boulevard is a significant draw, placing guests amidst clubs, restaurants, and shops. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service, a large indoor/outdoor fitness center, and free Wi-Fi.
3. Room Quality
The 81 guest rooms and suites are designed with Art Deco accents and a sophisticated color scheme of pale pink, cream, and brown, perfectly aligning with the hotel's nostalgic vibe. Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the spaces with natural light and often provide clear views of downtown L.A., the Hollywood Hills, and Beverly Hills. Comfort is emphasized with pillow-top mattresses, custom sheets, and down pillows. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, iHome iPod docks, laptop-sized safes, minibars, and Nespresso machines. Bathrooms boast a Hollywood Regency style with robes, brass fittings, and high-end toiletries. Suite bathrooms offer separate tubs and flat-screen TVs, and evening turndown service with a welcome chocolate treat adds a luxe touch. Some guests note that due to the historic nature of the property, some room layouts can be a bit awkward.

The Sunset Tower Hotel offers exceptional dining experiences. The iconic Tower Bar, off the lobby, is a dimly lit, wood-paneled space with a clubby vibe, live pianist, and a continental menu, attracting both guests and locals. It's known for excellent food and A-list guests, with many considering it a fantastic spot for dinner. The Terrace Restaurant provides indoor and outdoor dining with pool and city views, offering food and drink service poolside. 7. Value & Pricing
The Sunset Tower Hotel is considered an upscale, luxury property, and its pricing reflects this. The hotel is recognized for offering unparalleled opulence at a competitive price for its luxury segment in Los Angeles.
8. Common Complaints
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, a few recurring issues are sometimes mentioned by guests. These include the valet parking costing extra, which is typical in Los Angeles. The pool, while chic, is noted as being on the smaller side and occasionally being off-limits to guests due to private events. Additionally, as a historic property, some guests have found certain room layouts to be awkward. Some older reviews also mentioned potential issues with noise levels and outdated amenities, although more recent reviews emphasize renovations and high standards.

Always beyond perfect. Regardless of price, one of the best hotels in the country in my opinion. The hotel itself, the rooms, the style, the service, the amenities, the bars and restaurants, and the overall vibe are difficult to describe without experiencing it firsthand. To say that Ness (the Guest Experience Manager) is a delight to deal with is a vast understatement. He is unbelievably accomm...

The Chateau was full due to the Grammys, so we checked in across the street—what a lucky find! Very personable yet stylish, with a great balance of renovation and preservation. Excellent mixology, and an even better breakfast (served until 11). Valet parking was seamless, and the pool was perfect. We’ll definitely be back ASAP.

Great hotel. A location accessible to the rest of LA. Helpfulness and courtesy of each staff member. Breakfast on the patio by the pool with a great view of the city. It was fun, cool (loved the deco features), and comfortable. Great way to celebrate a 30th anniversary. Bring nice duds for the restaurants. Live music, old club restaurant feel, great drinks and a nice menu.

Sunset Tower has always been one of my favorite hotels and my stay with my family for Thanksgiving was wonderful. The building has so much charm and the people make it remarkable. Barbara, Angel and Quinton in the resturant are exceptional and Ness at the front desk made sure everything was perfect. Thank you!

I expected the hotel to be of the highest historic quality and the food to be great. But it was the people that resulted in the entire experience to exceed all expectations. Each person…the front desk, housekeeping, valet, bartenders, food service…everyone was extraordinary with a friendly yet professional interaction each time. We lived our visit.
