Expert Review: Sir Prague

Sir Prague, a Michelin Key Selected property, offers a sophisticated and artistic retreat in the heart of the Czech capital. Housed in a beautifully restored neo-Renaissance building from 1884, the hotel seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary design, creating a unique and memorable experience for guests.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

Sir Prague consistently receives high praise, with many guests describing their stays as "exceptional," "wonderful," and "beyond expectations." Review scores frequently reach 9.4 and higher on a 10-point scale, reflecting a general consensus of satisfaction and delight among visitors. The overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with guests often expressing a desire to return.

2. Key Highlights

Guests particularly love the hotel's distinctive atmosphere, inspired design, excellent service, and prime location. The unique blend of Prague's Gothic architecture and Czech Cubism, brought to life by designer Linda Boronkay, creates visually appealing and eclectic spaces. The presence of a welcoming library is also frequently highlighted as a comfortable spot to unwind. Its selection as a Michelin Key hotel further underscores its commitment to comfort and unforgettable guest experiences.

3. Room Quality

The 76 elegant rooms and suites at Sir Prague are designed as "urban sanctuaries," emphasizing modern sophistication and comfort. Each room features luxurious bedding, gorgeous furnishings, rain showers, and local, hand-painted Cubist-inspired artwork, providing an intimate and inspiring atmosphere. Standard amenities include a well-stocked minibar, large TVs with streaming capabilities, espresso pod machines & tea set-ups, and Zenology bathroom and spa amenities. While beds are noted as very comfortable with good pillows, some guests have mentioned that rooms can be quite small with limited storage space, particularly for longer stays, and a lack of storage in bathrooms.

4. Dining Experience

The hotel's signature restaurant, Seven North, led by Chef Eyal Shani, offers a "fresh concept" of Mediterranean homestyle cooking with shareable plates and a vibrant cocktail menu. It's described as a buzzing and energetic setting, attracting both hotel guests and locals, with an option for dining in the central courtyard. While some guests have praised the restaurant as "absolutely fabulous" with "extremely high standard of cuisine," including vegetarian options, others found both breakfast and dinner to be expensive with limited choices and small portions. Complimentary breakfast is not offered. The hotel also features a cozy Library Bar.

5. Service & Staff

The service at Sir Prague consistently receives outstanding feedback. Guests frequently commend the staff for being "extremely friendly and helpful," "supportive," "welcoming," and "professional." Many reviews highlight the staff's ability to go "beyond expectations" and provide "excellency," contributing significantly to a pleasant and effortless stay. Hosts Jan and Thomas were specifically noted as exceptional.

6. Location & Accessibility

Sir Prague boasts an "excellent location" in Prague's New Town (Nové Město), along the Vltava River and just steps from the iconic Dancing House. This area offers a blend of tranquility and cultural vibrancy, with easy access to major attractions. Charles Bridge is approximately a 16-minute walk, and Old Town Square is about 18 minutes away on foot. Nearby public transport includes the Karlovo náměstí metro station, a 7-minute walk away, making it convenient for exploring the city. Vaclav Havel Airport Prague is about 13 km (8.1 miles) away, accessible by taxi or public transport. For those arriving by car, affiliated parking garages (like Mr. Parkit) and on-street parking in the Blue Zone are available nearby.

7. Value & Pricing

As a 5-star hotel and a Michelin Key property, Sir Prague offers a luxurious experience. While the prices reflect this elevated standard, some guests found the breakfast and dinner at Seven North to be on the expensive side. Rates can start from approximately CA $219.68 for a standard room, though prices are subject to change. Overall, many guests feel it offers good value for the quality of the stay, especially considering the design, service, and location.

8. Common Complaints

Despite the high praise, a few recurring criticisms have been noted by guests. The most common complaints revolve around the relatively small size of some rooms and the limited storage options, particularly for suitcases and bathroom items. Additionally, some guests found the breakfast expensive with a limited selection, and dinner portions at Seven North to be small and overpriced. A minor but notable issue was a slippery shower floor in some rooms.

This is a lovely boutique hotel close to the river and within easy walking distance of many of the sights of Prague. We stayed here for a half term weekend break with our youngest in one of the "family rooms" - actually 2 separate rooms on a co-joining private corridor. It was perfect for us. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. We were on a B&B deal and the breakfasts were very good wit...

I booked a long weekend for my partner's (belated) milestone birthday, and I could not have asked for a more perfect hotel in which to celebrate this occasion. We had stayed at the Sir Adam in Amsterdam previously, so we know how wonderful the Sir Hotels are, however, the Sir Prague and its design / interiors truly echo its wonderful surroundings. From its amazing location to the wonderful attenti...

Thomas started off our stay with a welcome drink and helped bring our luggage to our room. The rooms were clean and elegant, everything was basically brand new. He also helped us figure out how to get around and gave us advice on Christmas markets as well as vegetarian food options. The gym was spacious and they have a nice, cozy reception area room to have coffee/tea and unwind. Great location, g...

We stayed at Sir Prague Hotel in January 2026 and had a very positive experience. The rooms are beautifully designed and have a wooden floor. A big compliment to the kind and competent staff! The hotel has a great, central location. We didnt have breakfast, so we can't give feedback on that, but the dinner at the restaurant was superb.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Prague and had an exceptional experience. The location couldn’t be better—perfectly situated within easy walking distance of all the major attractions, yet just far enough from the busiest areas to remain peaceful and free from noisy crowds. Had a perfect stay over NYE! Two couples stayed in the Sir Family, which are conjoined rooms, not a suite per se - but it was perfect as one room was a bit larger and we were able to socialize a bit in our private space. Everyone on staff was lovely - kind, perfectly accommodating, and helpful! The restaurant food was at a great standard, delicious, and the bar team offered great service and wer...
