Awarded two Michelin Keys, signifying an "exceptional stay" and a property "unique in every way" with "character and charm, run with obvious pride and considerable care," it consistently delivers an unforgettable experience for its guests.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The overall sentiment for SIGNIEL Seoul is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing their stays as amazing, exceptional, and unforgettable. It garners high ratings across various platforms, often praised for its unparalleled views, impeccable service, and luxurious ambiance. Many consider it a dream destination for a luxury stay or special occasion.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently laud SIGNIEL Seoul for several key aspects:
- Unparalleled Views: Occupying some of the highest floors in one of the world's tallest buildings, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Seoul skyline, the Han River, and surrounding mountains. These views are often cited as the primary reason for choosing the hotel and a major highlight of the stay.
- Exceptional Service: The service and staff are frequently highlighted as impeccable, attentive, helpful, and friendly, with guests noting staff going "above and beyond" to ensure a memorable stay.
- Luxurious Design & Ambiance: The hotel blends five-star grandeur with sleek contemporary style, incorporating minimalist Korean-inspired design elements. The lobby, located on the 79th floor, greets guests with "dizzying height and polished grandeur."
- Exclusive Amenities: Guests appreciate access to exclusive facilities such as the "Salon de SIGNIEL" guest lounge, offering complimentary refreshments and impressive views. The indoor swimming pool, also with panoramic city views, and the world-class Evian Spa are significant draws.
3. Room Quality
The 235 guestrooms and suites at SIGNIEL Seoul are described as stunning, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable. They feature minimalist Korean-inspired design, often adorned with elements like plum blossom murals, silk-textured walls, and lacquered finishes, providing a "quietly regal" feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure spectacular views from nearly every room.
Rooms boast premium bedding, comfortable furnishings, and modern amenities such as Nespresso machines and complimentary Evian water. Bathrooms are spa-like, featuring designer toiletries from brands like Diptyque, deep soaking tubs, and separate showers. Some Korean-style suites offer unique features like "ondol"-heated floors and traditional craftsmanship.
4. Dining Experience
SIGNIEL Seoul offers a world-class dining experience with several notable options:
- STAY, Modern Restaurant: This French restaurant is helmed by multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, offering creative and refined French cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Bicena: A contemporary Korean fine-dining restaurant that holds One Michelin Star, serving authentic Korean dishes for lunch and dinner.
- The Lounge: Breakfast is served here, featuring a carefully curated spread of warm Korean dishes, Western pastries, fresh fruit, and freshly brewed coffee, all enjoyed with impressive city views. Afternoon tea is also a popular offering at The Lounge.
- Bar 81: This bar boasts Korea's largest champagne collection and offers stunning evening vistas, making it a sophisticated spot for drinks.
- Room Service: Guests commend the extensive in-room dining menu, providing a wide array of options.
5. Service & Staff
The service at SIGNIEL Seoul consistently receives high praise, described as excellent, impeccable, and attentive. Staff members are noted for being kind, helpful, friendly, and responsive, often exceeding guest expectations. The private elevator whisking guests directly to the 79th-floor lobby creates a sense of arrival and occasion. Multilingual staff are available at the 24-hour front desk.
6. Location & Accessibility
Situated on the upper floors of the Lotte World Tower, SIGNIEL Seoul offers a unique vantage point high above the city. The hotel is directly connected to the Lotte World Mall, offering convenient access to shopping, dining, and entertainment, including a theme park and a lakeside park. Jamsil Station (Lines 2 and 8) is a short 270-meter walk away via an underground passage, providing excellent access to public transportation.
While its location in the Songpa-gu neighborhood is considered convenient for the Lotte complex and southeastern Seoul, some travelers find it less central for exploring traditional tourist attractions compared to hotels in other districts. The hotel offers airport transfer services, with Incheon International Airport (ICN) being approximately 70 minutes away by car and Gimpo International Airport (GMP) about 45 minutes.
7. Value & Pricing
SIGNIEL Seoul is positioned as a luxury hotel, and its pricing reflects its exclusivity, prime location, and world-class amenities. While it is considered a high-budget option, many guests feel the experience is "worth all the money you pay" and offers "top value" for the level of luxury provided. Typical nightly rates can start from around $289 to $428, varying based on room type, view, and booking season.
8. Common Complaints
Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, a few minor criticisms have occasionally surfaced:
- Service Inconsistencies (Historical): Very early reviews (from 2017) mentioned some instances of slow or unhelpful service and potential language barriers with some staff, particularly housekeeping. However, more recent reviews overwhelmingly praise the staff and service.
- Breakfast Variety: A few guests have wished for more Korean food options at the breakfast buffet, which tends to lean more towards Western dishes.
- Location for General Tourism: While excellent for the Lotte World complex, some tourists find the Jamsil location to be less convenient for reaching central Seoul's historical sites and other popular districts, requiring longer travel times.
- Room Comfort (Dated Complaint): A very old review from 2017 mentioned uncomfortable sofa and desk chairs in some suites and a perception of low ceilings, but this is not a recurring complaint in more recent feedback.

I had such an amazing stay at Signel Seoul — it truly feels like a five-star experience in every detail. The service was honestly next level. I was contemplating between Four Seasons and Signel and I do not regret choosing Signel Seoul! Every staff member was so polished but also genuinely kind. From check-in to housekeeping to small requests, everything was handled smoothly and thoughtfully. Th...

Luxury at the Highest Level in Seoul Staying at SIGNIEL Seoul was an extraordinary experience and my second stay with the SIGNIEL brand, following the equally stunning SIGNIEL Busan. As a two Michelin Key hotel, the highest recognition in South Korea, and a proud member of Leading Hotels of the World, SIGNIEL Seoul represents the pinnacle of luxury hospitality in the country. The hotel is housed...

I recently concluded a 6-day stay at SIGNIEL SEOUL, and I can say without hesitation that it was a flawless experience from start to finish. The level of kindness and meticulous attention to detail provided by the staff truly set this hotel apart. On our final night, I booked additional rooms for my mother and sisters. The hotel went above and beyond, providing a room upgrade and thoughtful touche...

Amazing view. The staff members were super friendly and attentive. They took care of me well. I totally love the vibes and the room as well as the view. Thank you for the upgrade. 10/10 experience and I look forward to returning again.

The room itself was fine, and taking two elevators was understandable given that it’s a hotel in such a tall building. However, the breakfast and dining experience were extremely disappointing. The food quality was very poor, and I ended up leaving after having just one glass of juice and a small plate of salad. Overall, the dining did not meet the standards expected from a hotel at this level.

Overall, a strong hotel and worth a one night stay mainly for the views and location (if budget permits). That said, stacked up against FS or Josun Palace, it falls a bit short. Rooms are fine but not memorable; some noticeable wear and tear, though the bathroom stands out (lots of marble). Breakfast was okay. Service was good, but not at the level you’d expect from tier 1 hotels. I would have ha...
