It's seen as a peaceful oasis that offers a genuine Lao experience.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about several aspects of Satri House:
- Design & Ambiance: The hotel's colonial-style architecture, rich history as a former royal residence, and meticulous preservation of Indochine design are highly appreciated. It's filled with exquisite antiques, artwork, and unique cultural décor, creating an atmosphere that is both elegant and serene. The lush tropical gardens, picturesque lotus ponds, and hidden seating areas are frequently mentioned as creating a peaceful and charming environment.
- Service & Staff: The attentive, professional, warm, and friendly staff receive consistently high praise, often rated at 9.4 out of 10. Guests feel welcomed and well-cared for, with many noting the personalized touches and genuine hospitality.
- Amenities: The two outdoor swimming pools are a significant highlight, especially as they are a rarity for hotels within Luang Prabang's protected zone. The on-site spa, offering traditional massages, a Jacuzzi, plunge pool, and herbal steam room, also contributes to the luxurious and relaxing stay. Free Wi-Fi, a library, and complimentary bikes are also appreciated.
- Location: While slightly outside the immediate city center, its location is considered excellent for being central yet quiet, allowing for easy walking access to attractions like the night market and Mount Phou Si.

This hotel is truly exceptional. Every detail is meticulously designed for both comfort and aesthetic pleasure, and the place is so gorgeous you’ll be tempted to just sit down in a chair and stare at the gardens for hours. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, and service is kind and comeptent. While the hotel is located some 15-20 minutes walking from the very city center, we actually thought tha...

We stayed for 4 nights, a lovely hotel, about 50 bedrooms, privately owned. It is subtle, tasteful and attractive. Excellent customer service and a good restaurant that is moderately priced. We recommend it highly.

Positive: A stunning property, beautifully curated in every detail. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It truly feels like a luxury escape in Laos. Negative: The rooms have wooden floors, which naturally amplify noise. Housekeeping starts very early—sometimes as early as 7:30–8:00 a.m., or even earlier. If a room above is being cleaned, th...

An hotel full of charm not far from the city center (10 minutes walk). Nice rooms, with great decor (no TV). I would recommend to take a superior room because they have better natural light. Very good breakfast served at your table in a beautiful garden. Only drawbacks was the noise of the air conditioning (placed right above the bed)

Pros: Amazing setting, beautiful pond and plants. Great service. Cons: Breakfast and dinner (food) did not impress us. No accessible sockets in the room. About 10-15 min walk to downtown
