  • Room Discrepancies (isolated incident): A single review indicated that the actual room might not always match photos exactly, and one guest initially experienced a room with limited natural sunlight before being moved to a glamping tent.
  • Staff Knowledge on Veganism (minor): While the German chef was highly knowledgeable about veganism, some serving staff were less so, occasionally leading to confusion, though this did not detract from the overall positive dining experience.
  • Limited Availability/Facilities (Temporary): It's important to note that The Namkhan reopened with limited availability, experiences, and facilities until October 2025.

For us it was absolutely wonderful. So harmonious to sit on the terrace and look out over the river and watch everyday life on the other side. The tent with the interior is just absolutely fantastic. All the staff are so nice and friendly. The whole area feels more like a family than guests and staff. What you absolutely must to do is to book the sunset boat trip. An experience that will never be ...

I bought a day pass, initially advertised as $10 per day that includes use of the outdoor gym, sauna, jacuzzi, pool and the poolside bar. However, they made recent change to have day-pass for $50, which includes $30 usage at spa or the poolside restaurant. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and shown the resort. With all the additional charges (~20% tax) and additional $20 for ...

The Namkhan hotel is a smaller resort 15 minutes away from Luang Prabang center. The location is beautiful, by the river and super quiet. There is a free shuttle that goes to the city center, so the distance was not at all an issue. The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. Breakfast and lunch were very good. There is an outdoor gym and a great spa. I would not stay anywhere else in LP!
