8. Common Complaints
While reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few minor criticisms have been noted:
- Lack of Air Conditioning in Bedrooms (Historical): One review from 2010 mentioned that an air conditioner in the bedroom "wouldn't go astray." However, more recent reviews (as of 2025) confirm that all guestrooms now include air conditioning.
- Occasional Service Gaps: In a few instances, some guests felt the staff, while friendly, were not as experienced as those at competitors like Aman or Four Seasons. There was also an isolated instance where a special occasion (anniversary) and a pre-arranged credit were overlooked, requiring guests to remind staff.
- Quiet Dining/Lounge Atmosphere: One guest found the dining/lounge area to be "a touch quiet and lacking a bit of atmosphere" during their stay.
- Inability to Open Windows: One reviewer expressed a personal preference to open windows for fresh air, suggesting this might not be possible in all rooms.

I think another review below hit the nail on the head. We stayed in the Lakeview Deluxe Room, which was basically an attic off of the lobby. You can hear everything going on downstairs. There is a bizarre exit sign and another set of stairs right in the room — unclear where that led. The shower is tiny and basically a small wand. We had dinner at the restaurant once. The food was great but the ser...

The food and initial service were very good. Unfortunately, the experience was ruined at payment. Despite my card being approved, I was followed to the car park, asked to pay again, questioned unnecessarily, and my card details were noted. I was later called to confirm the payment had in fact gone through. This was embarrassing and not the standard expected from a luxury hotel

We were there for 3 course lunch tasting menu for 2 adults and our child had a seperate kids menu. Dining Environment: Superb view and well appointed inter...

Incredible location that creates a feeling of isolation and tranquility while being close enough to town to make sure you can tap in and out with ease. The rooms are well proportioned and the attention to detail is high with quality fittings and furnishings. Comfort is high on the priority here and the staff accomodate most requests expertly. The daily cooked ANZAC cookies start each day with a sm...
