Relais Blu, a Michelin One-Key property nestled in Massa Lubrense, Italy, consistently earns exceptional praise for its breathtaking views, luxurious amenities, and unparalleled hospitality, making it a highly recommended destination for a tranquil and romantic getaway.

Overall Rating & Sentiment

Relais Blu is overwhelmingly rated as "exceptional" and "amazing" by guests, often described as a "piece of Heaven" and an "island of tranquility and relaxation". The sentiment is consistently positive, with many considering it an "unforgettable stay". Its Michelin One-Key status signifies a "very special stay" and a "significant contribution to the guest experience".

Key Highlights

Guests are particularly captivated by the stunning panoramic views of Capri, Ischia, Procida, and Vesuvius, visible from nearly every point of the hotel, including rooms, terraces, and the infinity pool. The "incredible with breathtaking views of Capri" infinity pool is frequently mentioned as a highlight. Exceptional service, a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant, and a refined, modern Mediterranean design also stand out as key attractions. The tranquil and relaxing atmosphere is highly valued by visitors.

Room Quality

The 11 luxury suites at Relais Blu are individually designed, offering a refined and contemporary aesthetic with meticulous attention to detail. Rooms are described as spacious, clean, neat, and airy, featuring a chic design with plenty of whites and blues to reflect the Mediterranean surroundings. Most rooms boast balconies or terraces that provide enchanting sea views. Modern comforts include air conditioning, minibar, flat-screen television with satellite channels, free Wi-Fi, bathrobes, and slippers. Some rooms even offer Jacuzzis. Daily housekeeping and turndown service are also provided.

Dining Experience

The Relais Blu restaurant, proudly bearing a Michelin star, is a significant draw. Under the helm of Chef Fumiko Sakai (previously Christoph Bob), the cuisine offers authentically Campanian dishes, often incorporating vegetables from the restaurant's own garden. Guests rave about the "amazing tasting menu with very fine food beautifully presented" and an extensive wine list. Fish takes pride of place, alongside regional meats. The dining experience is enhanced by the "divine view on" Capri.

Breakfast is consistently lauded as "out of this world," "fresh and perfectly prepared," and "stunning". It's offered as a continental, Italian, buffet, or à la carte option. Guests can also enjoy breakfast in their room or on the panoramic terrace until 11:30 AM.

Service & Staff

The service and staff at Relais Blu receive outstanding commendations. Guests frequently describe the team as "exceptional," "amazing," "warm," "helpful," "attentive," and "friendly". Many reviews highlight how the staff "went above and beyond to make our stay special" and that "nothing was too much trouble" for them. The hospitality is noted as professional, genuine, and personal, with a great attention to detail and guest well-being.

Location & Accessibility

Relais Blu is situated in Massa Lubrense, at the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula, offering a unique position where the Sorrentine Peninsula meets the Amalfi Coast. This location provides a "magnificent" and "unbelievable" scenic backdrop with uninterrupted views of Capri, Ischia, Procida, and Vesuvius.

While the views are a major advantage, the location is described as "a bit remote," meaning guests should "plan on driving or taxi to town for additional dining options". It is approximately 1.5 hours by car from Naples Capodichino Airport, with an airport shuttle service available. Public transport involves taking the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, then a SITA bus or taxi to Massa Lubrense – Marciano - Termini. The hotel is approximately 3.6 miles from Sorrento. Nearby activities include cycling, jet skiing, sailing, hiking, and scuba diving.

Value & Pricing

While specific price ranges vary, reviews indicate that Relais Blu is a luxury property, with rates starting from around €350 (or C$524-716). Despite the higher price point, guests generally consider it to be "worth every penny" for the Michelin-starred restaurant and the overall "paradise" experience. The value is seen in the "stunning" location, "amazing" food, and "wonderful" staff.

Common Complaints

The most common point that could be perceived as a minor inconvenience is the hotel's somewhat remote location, which necessitates driving or taking a taxi to access other dining options or local towns like Sorrento. However, for those seeking tranquility and breathtaking views away from the bustling crowds, this remoteness is often considered a positive aspect, offering an "island of tranquility and relaxation". There are no other significant recurring complaints found in the available guest feedback.

What a beautiful place! The view and the infinity pool were absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, and their olive oil is my favorite — I even bought two bottles to take home! The hotel is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. I already miss it and wish we had stayed longer. Bianca, Andrea, and all the staff were so friendly and kind. Definitely my new favorite vacation spot!

Great experience especially with Bianca who hosted us with exceptional care and hospitality. She gave great suggestions, offers to help and constantly checks on us to see if we need anything - all without being asked. The stay itself is comfortable with huge and clean rooms with perfect views of sunrise, sunset, and the vast seas overlooking Capri island. The only gripe is the inconvenient loca...
