The pervasive sense of calm and tranquility is a major draw, setting it apart from more bustling destinations. Exceptional service and staff are frequently praised, with guests noting the helpfulness and attentiveness of the team. The design is also a key highlight, showcasing a beautiful blend of a historic manor house and minimalist modern architecture. Amenities such as the heated pool, spa, and fitness room also contribute to the luxurious experience.

3. Room Quality

The rooms at Quinta da Casa Branca are described as clean, beautiful, and comfortable. Accommodations, which include 41 guest rooms in the main building and eight suites in the Manor House, offer garden views, often with private balconies or terraces. The hotel offers a delightful dining experience with two restaurants. "The Dining Room," located in the Manor House, provides gastronomic fine dining with Mediterranean cuisine and the option for al fresco dining on its terrace. Guests have noted the food in the fine dining room as "excellent and very good value". For breakfast, lunch, and snacks, the "Garden Pavilion" Restaurant, a modern wooden and glass building amidst the gardens, serves a buffet breakfast and has its own terrace. Room payment is typically due upon check-in, with hotel extras due upon check-out.

8. Common Complaints

Recurring issues or criticisms are minimal for Quinta da Casa Branca. As a property that emphasizes "peace and quiet," it is not the place for those seeking "heaving discos and all-night debauches". However, this characteristic is generally seen as a positive for its target demographic. Some older reviews might mention the walk to the city center as a consideration, but this is a minor point given the hotel's intended serene atmosphere and accessibility to transport. The overwhelming feedback points to a consistently high level of guest satisfaction.

Loving it here on our 2nd stay having been here back in 2009. It was good then and they’ve improved it… Great premium room ( 302) and lovely staff. Breakfast is a cold buffet and hot food is cooked to order just as it should be. You’re a short walk from the sea but this is made up for by the beautiful gardens and exotic trees and plants. Many of which are large specimens from Asia and Africa.

Beautiful venue with fantastic garden, but the rooms are not really up to date with comfort and luxury… Jacuzzi bathtub in the suite will never fit 2 adults to enjoy a bath together. Rather small TVs (but 2)..no extra outlets next to the bed for charging devices. No USB outlets. Fresh fruit in room not refilled daily. Just tiny things, one would ourdays expect of a hotel of this category. Sauna, s...

I stayed here with a friend back in August - can't say enough good things! The property was absolutely stunning, very quiet and restful, but still walking distance to restaurants and other sea-side properties/activities. We had an issue with our A/C and they immediately sent a technician. They weren't able to resolve the issue so they upgraded us to a much, much bigger suite for our whole stay, f...

Lovely hotel with rooms overlooking superb gardens. Excellent breakfast and dining facilities at separate buildings within the grounds. Immaculate rooms and lovely helpful staff. 20 minute walk to Funchal centre, lots of other good restaurants within the area if you fancy a change from the hotel.

We have visited multiple times beautiful setting attentive staff. Unfortunately the dining options have become limited to an expensive dining experience in The Manor House and a Bar type menu at the other restaurant which does not vary. We chose to dine out at an excellent local restaurant that offered better value and daily “specials” The bathrooms are now looking tired and a little dated.

Lovely hotel in stunning gardens. Very friendly welcome and helpful reception staff. Rooms are large and have all you need, the restaurant/cafe was good with excellent breakfast. About 30 mins walk into central Funchal but there are buses and an Uber is only about £8
