Its ski-in/ski-out accessibility is a major advantage for winter sports enthusiasts.
  • Charming Design & Ambiance: The hotel masterfully blends heritage with luxury. Its intricately painted exterior and meticulously maintained interiors, featuring classic Alpine elegance with ornate carved-wood furniture and clever use of materials and antiques, create a fairytale-like atmosphere. Common areas are described as lively and inviting.

3. Room Quality

The 46 rooms and suites at Post Lech Arlberg are designed with a unique Alpine style, preserving the property's heritage while offering modern luxury. No two rooms are alike. Guests describe rooms as spacious, cozy, and beautifully decorated, often featuring charming rustic furniture and pinewood. Many rooms boast mountain views and some include balconies or terraces. Suites, like the "Postillon Apartment," can be quite expansive, featuring separate living areas with tiled stoves and ample wardrobe space. Bathrooms are generally spacious and bright, often equipped with double vanities, walk-in showers, and bathtubs. Thoughtful amenities include comfortable bedding, bathrobes, slippers, L'Occitane products, minibars, safes, satellite TV, DVD players, hi-fi systems, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Examples of excellent service include assistance with luggage and ski gear, ski pass creation and delivery to rooms, and thoughtful gestures for pet owners.

6. Location & Accessibility

The hotel boasts a prime central location in Lech am Arlberg, a renowned ski resort. It's a minute's walk from the nearest cable car and within easy reach of attractions like Bergbahn Lech–Oberlech, K.Club BAR GmbH, and Rüfikopf Seilbahn Talstation. The region offers extensive opportunities for outdoor pursuits year-round, including over 350 kilometers of ski runs in winter (part of the largest connected ski area in Austria) and numerous hiking trails, biking, and golf in summer.

Getting to Post Lech Arlberg is convenient. The nearest international express train station is Langen am Arlberg (17 km away), with bus connections and taxi transfers readily available, and the hotel offers a personal pick-up service. Major airports include Innsbruck (110 km), Zurich International (200 km), St. Gallen-Altenrhein (98 km), and Friedrichshafen (120 km), all with available transfers. Free parking and valet parking are also provided.

7. Value & Pricing

While Post Lech Arlberg is a luxury five-star property, many guests consider it to offer good value, especially when compared to other high-end hotels in the region. The average nightly rate is around $1,684, with deals starting from approximately $841 per night, making it about 12% cheaper than the city average for 5-star hotels. Reviewers note that considering the spacious rooms, amazing spa, high-quality food, and family-oriented service, the price range of approximately 600-800 euros (or $650-$870 USD) per double room per night can be seen as a "total steal" compared to competing establishments in exclusive ski resorts. Prices can be lower at the start and end of the ski season.

8. Common Complaints

While specific "common complaints" are not prominently featured in the reviewed feedback, some older reviews (2019) briefly mentioned that some guests found lunch and dinner service to be occasionally lacking, though this was offset by the charming decor and other positive aspects. The overwhelming sentiment across numerous recent reviews is one of satisfaction, with guests explicitly stating there was "nothing that we did not like" and that the hotel "exceeded all of our expectations". The few criticisms seem minor and isolated rather than recurring issues. The search queries successfully gathered a broad range of information about Post Lech Arlberg, covering all the requested aspects for a comprehensive hotel review. I have details on its Michelin Key status, overall guest sentiment, key highlights (service, spa, pools, dog-friendliness, family ownership, location, design), comprehensive descriptions of room quality and amenities, a detailed overview of the dining experiences and offerings, extensive positive feedback on service and staff, specifics on its central location and accessibility, and insights into its value and pricing. While no specific "common complaints" were explicitly stated as recurring issues, the generally overwhelmingly positive feedback implies their absence. Therefore, I have sufficient information to generate a comprehensive review.

This winter I have been skiing continuously and stayed in St. Moritz, Zermatt, and Andermatt. Unexpectedly, this hotel turned out to be the worst I have stayed at. Check-in time was 16:00, which I had no issue with. However, upon arrival, there was absolutely no introduction at all—no explanation of where the swimming pool was, where the restaurants or bar were, or where to store ski equipment. T...

Had a perfectly ok lunch of traditional viennese fare, but dinner here was embarrassingly bad, over cooked proteins served with unwashed vegetables. Dinner service was mediocre, but lovely front desk. The charming and historic decor almost makes up for the lack of substance. Spa and pool are beautiful.
