Guests are consistently captivated by several aspects of Marnie & Mister H. The property's location in a fabulous historic building in the center of the old town is a major draw. The excellent host, Marion, is widely praised for her warmth and attentiveness. The beautiful design and character-filled apartments are also frequently highlighted, along with the generous and delicious breakfast. Amenities such as a shared lounge with a fireplace and an outdoor terrace or garden provide inviting spaces for relaxation.

3. Room Quality

Housed within a charming 16th-century building, the five guest rooms at Marnie & Mister H are individually decorated, offering a blend of old-world elegance and retro-chic style inspired by the 1960s. Rooms are described as plush, photogenic, spacious, and comfortable, featuring oak wood flooring, colorful patterned wallpaper, and mid-century modern furnishings. Some rooms also boast private balconies or terraces. Each room includes a private bathroom, often noted for its charming tiles, though some guests have found them to be "petite" or "tight for larger individuals". Standard room amenities include free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels.

As a historic 16th-century building, a recurring point for guests is the lack of an elevator, meaning stairs must be navigated. The building's age also means some stairs can be uneven or creaky. Some guests have noted that the bathrooms can be on the smaller side. Additionally, the checkout time is often a strict 11 AM. For those traveling with a vehicle, there is no direct parking at the hotel; however, a paid parking garage is available nearby, approximately a 12-minute walk away. Tall guests might also consider requesting a room without low beams.

What a treat! We stayed in the Marnie room, and loved the decoration and the space. Very friendly hostess, speaks English if you need that (we did) and bang in the middle of old town. A shame we only stayed one night.

This place is in the centre of Rennes, it is a 15th century house full of character. The owner is a lovely person who looked after us during our stay she gave us advice on where to go visit. Great breakfast and she also upgraded our room for our stay.

We walked to shopping and dinner, and had an outstanding evening in town. I loved the courtyard where we could sit and read, and breakfast the next morning was amazing (especially the apple cake). I wish we could have stayed l...

This was the most comfy bed we were in during out week in France. The property is from the 16th cent...
