Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm, a distinguished Michelin Two-Keys property in Albuquerque, United States, consistently garners high praise for its serene ambiance, unique blend of luxury, and immersive farm experience. Guests frequently describe their stays as exceptional and memorable, often highlighting the tranquility and connection to nature offered by the 25-acre organic lavender farm.
1. Overall Rating & Sentiment
The overall sentiment for Los Poblanos is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently rating it as exceptional. It is celebrated as a sanctuary that offers a relaxed, quiet, and slow pace of life, a luxurious escape that allows visitors to truly unwind and appreciate their surroundings. Many consider it a unique and unforgettable destination, far from a "cookie-cutter" hotel experience.
2. Key Highlights
Guests consistently rave about the distinct highlights of Los Poblanos. The beautiful grounds, including the extensive lavender fields and formal gardens, are a major draw. The property offers a tranquil Hacienda Spa, a Wellness Yurt for yoga and meditation classes (complimentary for lodging guests), a fitness center, and a delightful Farm Shop stocked with artisan products, many made from the farm's lavender. The presence of roaming peacocks, including the iconic white peacock named Albert, adds to the charming and unique atmosphere. Complimentary cruiser bicycles are available for guests to explore the property and nearby trails.
3. Room Quality
The rooms at Los Poblanos are described as spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed with a rustic Southwestern charm. Each room often features elements like adobe fireplaces, hand-carved beams, ironwork, hardwood floors, hand-plastered walls, and period New Mexican artwork, creating a luxurious yet authentic aesthetic. Guests appreciate the high-quality, eco-friendly linens by Coyuchi and the plush duvets and pillows, ensuring a restful sleep. In-room amenities typically include complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, coffee and tea facilities, a fridge, comfy robes, and signature lavender organic toiletries made directly on the farm. Some rooms also boast kitchenettes, private patios, and garden views.
4. Dining Experience
The dining experience at Los Poblanos, particularly at its onsite restaurant, Campo, is a significant highlight. Campo is celebrated for its award-winning farm-to-fork concept, utilizing fresh, organic ingredients harvested directly from the farm. James Beard-nominated Chef Jonathan Perno leads the culinary team, offering a superb complimentary breakfast for guests, which often features multiple delightful options. The restaurant also serves highly-rated brunch and dinner, attracting both guests and local foodies. The atmosphere, service, and food at Campo are consistently described as phenomenal.
5. Service & Staff
The service and staff at Los Poblanos are frequently lauded as exceptional, thoughtful, and caring. Guests report a welcoming environment where the staff cares deeply about the guest experience. However, it is worth noting that some older employee reviews have indicated concerns regarding management practices, work-life balance, and high stress levels within certain departments.
6. Location & Accessibility
Los Poblanos is ideally situated in Albuquerque's North Valley, set amidst 25 acres of farmland, cottonwood trees, and gardens. Despite its tranquil, rural feel, it is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from downtown Albuquerque. Nearby attractions include the Albuquerque Museum and the ABQ BioPark. The inn provides complimentary bikes, making it easy for guests to explore the property and local trails along the Rio Grande.
7. Value & Pricing
Guests often describe the overall value of staying at Los Poblanos as exceptional, emphasizing that it offers an immersive journey rather than just a place to stay. While the experience is highly regarded, dining at Campo can be an investment, with guests estimating around $50 to $100+ per person for a full culinary experience with drinks. Room rates for a 1-night stay can start from approximately $296.65, with average weeknight prices around $416 and weekend nights averaging $539. Special packages and discounts are sometimes available, including for New Mexico residents.
8. Common Complaints
While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor recurring criticisms have been noted by guests. Some visitors express a preference for glass shower doors instead of shower curtains in the bathrooms, finding the latter to feel less luxurious. Additionally, the resident peacocks, while charming, are known for their early morning calls, though the hotel thoughtfully provides earplugs in guest rooms to mitigate any disturbance.

This is a property that unfortunately prioritizes charm over guest safety and comfort. We experienced the following issues during our stay: • Bathroom sink slow draining. Was fixed after two calls. • Shower curtain dirty. See photo. • Shower wand holding bracket on wall was sloppy and loose. • Toilet flapper wouldn’t seat properly. H2O kept running after each flush. • HVAC system would not star...

Most we couldn't see because access is limited to "guest only". The farm shop which is filled with stunning treasures. We did manage to find several beautiful things that just had to come home with us. When we told the c...

A truly stunning property rich in architecture and history. Everywhere you turn is another gorgeous view—and this holds true while exploring the acres upon acres of the resort. Along with over-the-top ambiance, we came for the amazing food—and LP never disappoints. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay, and there was consistent attention to detail and to the customer experience. Lo...

Held a retreat here and accommodations for our group were great from the rooms to event space to meals. The location was perfect, definitely felt like a retreat. Loved that bike rentals were available all day and it’s a short ride to the Rio Grande! They even have a spa onsite, our whole group had a massage and loved their experience! Highly recommend.
