Amenities that stand out include a buzzing social scene in the lobby, a game lounge equipped with pool and shuffleboard, and complimentary wine tastings featuring Oregon wines. Free bike rentals are also available, encouraging exploration of the city. The hotel's commitment to cleanliness and a fun atmosphere is also frequently noted.
3. Room Quality
The 117 rooms at Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland are described as chic and stylish, with many featuring unique layouts. Some rooms even offer hot tub terraces, providing a luxurious touch. Guests report that the beds are plush, deeply comfortable, and adorned with Frette Italian sheets, ensuring a restful night's sleep. However, some rooms may have limited natural light. While many find the beds cozy, a few guests have found them uncomfortable. Concerns have also been raised about street noise in lower-level rooms and some views being "drab."
4. Dining Experience
The hotel features two dining venues: Il Solito and Bacchus Bar. Il Solito, the on-site Italian restaurant, is well-regarded for its cuisine, and a delicious hot breakfast is available. Breakfast is served at Il Solito from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Bacchus Bar offers craft cocktails and Italian cuisine, providing a lively atmosphere. Guests can easily walk to destinations like the waterfront, Pioneer Square, Powell's City of Books, and the vibrant Pearl District. The area is also rich with wine bars, theaters, and intimate dining options. However, some recent guest feedback mentions that the immediate downtown area can appear "grimy" and has a noticeable homeless population, though guests generally felt safe. Valet parking is available for a daily fee of USD 59.00. The hotel does not offer a complimentary airport shuttle.
7. Value & Pricing
While room rates can start from as low as $71, the average price for a weeknight stay is around $216, and for a weekend night, it averages $226. May is typically the most expensive month to stay, while September offers the cheapest rates. Guests should be aware of a daily guest amenity fee of $29 plus tax. Some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with these additional fees, which can impact the perceived value.
8. Common Complaints
Recurring issues and criticisms include the size of some rooms, with a few guests finding them small. Additional fees, such as resort or amenity fees, have been a source of dissatisfaction for some guests. We got a king corner room on the 3rd floor for a special occasion only 1 night. Bedding was comfortable and room was clean but dated. Furnishings were old and there was evidence of a water leak sometime in the past. The water pressure in the shower was not great and the temperature of the water was not extremely warm. The service was great from the staff, check in was a breeze and valeting my vehi...

We stayed for 2 nights. Location is perfect. You can walk everywhere. Our room was on 7th floor and it smelled bad. First night we thought it was a cleaning product. But it was more like pee the next day. We had to open our windows. Pillows were not comfortable. Bring your own… Hotel didn’t have the bar or restaurant open at convenient hours. The bar opened at 4pm. Restaurant only opened for break...

The staff were fantastic and accommodating. Great service, great room, friendly. I lost an item in the room and they were able to ship it back to me. The only downside to the entire stay was that the shower water pressure was very weak, but the staff at least were responsive in trying to fix it.

Great location to be walkable to all the good stuff. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and there are bikes you can rent for free to take around town. Also nice touches like welcome snack in the room. Would stay again

A welcome respite after tough travel. Late night front desk clerk was great and efficient (sorry I didn’t get his name). The room was comfortable and appreciated the welcome touches. Front desk team at checkout was also friendly and helpful (Ben and Mikasa) Great location, food, and bar onsite as well as within one block. I would love to stay here again.

The hotel has what I would describe as an "old Portland vibe," lying somewhere between luxury and hip. It is situated in a somewhat central part of downtown Portland, giving access to pretty much everything downtown has to offer, be it shopping, dining, or various l...
