3. Room Quality

The rooms and suites at IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau are consistently described as very comfortable, wide, and clean. The design embraces a modern country look, integrating Swiss pine and granite to create a luxurious and inviting space. Guests appreciate the thoughtful amenities, which can include:

4. Dining Experience

The dining experience at IN LAIN Hotel Cadonau is a major highlight, overseen by ambitious chef and hotelier Dario Cadonau. The hotel boasts three distinct culinary concepts:

  • Vivanda: This gourmet restaurant holds one Michelin star and 17 Gault&Millau points, offering sophisticated cuisine focused on local ingredients with intermezzos from surrounding regions. Guests rave about the "Vivanda menu" as "just a dream".
  • La Stüvetta: A cozy restaurant where guests can choose from a menu featuring local specialties like Engadine beef fillet.
  • Käserei: A rustic setting offering various cheese fondue options, raclette, and fondue chinoise.

Breakfast, which can be enjoyed in-room, is also highly praised, often served in an old hay barn or on private terraces, with fragrant egg dishes prepared on an ancient stove providing a sensory experience. We had a great time. The rooms and shared spaces all feel very cosy, and every employee also made us feel comfortable and like at home. Dario himself even spontaneously came to help us remove the snow from our car!We enjoyed the location, feeling secluded but at the same time with easy access to a number of fun things to do (St Moritz, Engadin Eisweg, Engadin River Ranch, Zuoz ski resort). The hotel is almost hidden out of sight and it is clear it was designed with the utmost respect for the nature that surrounds it. Most rooms get a spectacular view of the opposing mountains, with the terrace providing an idyllic setting to relax with the hum of Inn in the distance. Natural wood dominates the interior. Rooms have all the amenities you would need, are of good size and kept spotless...

Spent four days there, and honestly cannot think of a team I have met that did a better, more friendly, and more thorough job making me fully comfortable throughout. The food is spectacular and so are the rooms - designed to the detail. I miss the scent of the wood that pervades the entire experience. I spent time skiing and backcountry skiing all of which immediately accessible from the hotel. Wi...

A few years delayed on this review, but we are planning a trip back -- leading me to make one. We stayed for a few nights in September, and the entire experience was magical. Every meal we had was fantastic. The sauna was stunning. The service was top-notch. The setting is absolute heaven. One of the top hotels we have ever stayed at (on par with the best in Africa) and we cannot wait to be ...
