2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently rave about several aspects of Dos Casas:

  • Service: The staff is lauded for being extremely attentive, friendly, and providing personalized touches like welcome drinks and nightly turndown service with weather cards and cookies.
  • Location: Situated in the heart of the city center, the hotel offers a central yet peaceful retreat, just a few blocks from the main square, allowing easy access to attractions.
  • Design: The hotel’s design is a significant draw, featuring beautifully appointed suites that blend rustic décor with stone walls, 18th-century colonial elements, and a sophisticated mid-century modern twist curated by architect-designer Alberto Laposse.
  • Amenities: Dos Casas boasts a full-service spa offering massages, facials, body scrubs, a Turkish bath, jacuzzi, and sauna. Other amenities include a garden, terraces with city views, complimentary Wi-Fi, valet parking, Nespresso machines, wine fridges, and luxurious robes. The Michelin Key selection further highlights its outstanding quality in design, architecture, service, and personality.

3. Room Quality

The rooms and suites at Dos Casas are described as large, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. They feature rustic décor with stone walls and are air-conditioned, equipped with safety boxes, flat-screen cable TVs, and premium bedding (including 400-thread count linens). Specific suites, such as the Townhouse, offer lavish three-story accommodations with private entrances and rooftop terraces.

4. Dining Experience

The on-site restaurant, Aperi, is a highlight, recognized by Travel & Leisure's 2015 Gourmet Awards as both "Best New Restaurant" and "Best Hotel's Restaurant." It offers unique-style décor and serves international gourmet food. An American breakfast is included with stays, which can be continental or cooked-to-order, featuring fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, and egg dishes like chilaquiles. While generally well-received, a few guests have noted the breakfast can be basic or, on occasion, arrive in parts or cold.

Very good hotel in an excellent location close to city center. What really shines though is the customer service provided by Miguel and staff. They really made our stay truly memorable. Pro tip: for a romantic private experience skip the crowded roof top bars and opt for the room with the outdoor jacuzzi with the view of the church. Best views in the city.

We visited the Spa at the hotel twice. It was an almost magical experience. My wife, daughter and myself left refreshed and healthier. I have been getting massages as an amateur athlete for over 30 years and Padira may be the best deep tissue therapist I have ever encountered. If we could, my wife and I would go there everyday we were in San Miguel de Allende. Highly recommend!

My eighty year old mom had her first Spa day and said she got baked (sauna) steamed (steam room) tenderized (massaged) and seasoned (oiled up). She loved it and wants to move in. My wife and I along with Mom wi...
