Guests frequently describe it as a luxurious and intimate boutique hotel that offers a quintessential Provençal experience.

1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for Domaine la Pierre Blanche is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently using terms like "fabulous," "outstanding," and "incredible." On Booking.com, it boasts a "Fabulous" rating of 9.1 based on 291 experiences, while Michelin Guide guests have rated it an impressive 19.0 out of 20. The sentiment is one of a serene retreat where relaxation and authentic Provençal charm are paramount.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently laud several aspects of Domaine la Pierre Blanche. The tranquil and beautiful grounds, encompassing olive and lavender fields, a heated outdoor pool, and even tennis and pétanque courts, are frequently highlighted. The hotel's design strikes a perfect balance between rustic Provençal charm and modern comfort, featuring rough-hewn stone walls, weathered wooden doors, and well-chosen contemporary furnishings. The attentive and welcoming service also stands out, making guests feel at home. The emphasis on exceptional food and drink is another significant draw.

3. Room Quality

The hotel features 15 spacious suites and rooms, each designed to complement the historical architecture with a sober, contemporary style. Rooms are described as comfortable and often include desirable amenities like an outdoor Jacuzzi or an Italian-made soaking tub. Each room offers a private terrace, some with breathtaking views of lavender fields or olive groves, and all open onto the surrounding nature. Guests can expect premium bedding, a choice of pillows, customized fragrances, air conditioning, a desk, coffee machine, fridge, minibar, safety deposit box, and a flat-screen TV. The property is also pet-friendly.

4. Dining Experience

Gastronomy is a core element of the Domaine La Pierre Blanche experience. The hotel offers three distinct dining options:

  • L'Opale: The main restaurant serves inventive, upscale modern French fusion cuisine, described as "haute bistronomie," often enjoyed under the stars. The menu, led by talented young chef Romain Serradimigni (or Patrick Pando, depending on the source), emphasizes seasonal ingredients from local producers, showcasing Provençal and Italian roots.
  • Bistrot by L'Opale: This bistro offers a more casual experience for lunch, focusing on seasonal produce with gourmet salads, fresh fish, local meats, and Provençal flavors.
  • L'Ambar (or L'Ambar Sunset Lounge/L'Ambar Piscine): A cocktail bar offering stunning sunset views over the vineyards, alongside a menu of cocktails, wines, and tapas. L'Ambar Piscine also provides drinks and light lunches by the poolside.

Breakfast is highly rated (guest review score: 8.1) and includes continental, buffet, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, often featuring champagne, local specialties, and fresh pastries.

5. Service & Staff

The service and staff at Domaine la Pierre Blanche receive consistent acclaim for their warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness. Guests highlight the "smiling welcomes at reception, attentive restaurant service, cheerful breakfasts, and meticulous housekeeping." Feedback frequently mentions staff being "brilliant," "super nice," "kind," and providing "amazing service," contributing significantly to a welcoming and luxurious stay. The team operates under the leadership of General Manager Thibaut Gaud.

6. Location & Accessibility

Domaine la Pierre Blanche is ideally situated just 3 km outside the charming village of Eygalières, at the foot of the Alpilles mountain range. This location provides a serene and tranquil setting, surrounded by olive groves, lavender fields, vineyards, and the garrigue, allowing guests to truly disconnect and reconnect with nature. While offering a secluded feel, it remains accessible, with free on-site private parking and a paid shuttle service available. It's also approximately 28 km (17 miles) from Parc des Expositions Avignon and 43 km (27 miles) from the Papal Palace.

7. Value & Pricing

Guests generally consider Domaine la Pierre Blanche to offer good value for money, with an average rating of 8.7 in this category. While pricing varies based on dates and room type, rates can start from approximately $263. An additional tourist tax of €5.76 per night per adult applies. The comprehensive amenities, high-quality dining, and exceptional service contribute to the perceived value.

8. Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor criticisms have been noted. One guest reported an "insulting and unprofessional attitude" from a specific staff member, though they emphasized that the rest of the staff and the overall hotel experience were so positive that this isolated incident could be overlooked. Another guest mentioned that the open design of the bathroom, situated a meter next to the bed, was the only downside to an otherwise very pleasant stay. It's also worth noting that the hotel is an adults-only establishment (+18).

What started as a quick two-night stopover between Barcelona and Cannes turned into the highlight of our trip. The property is beautiful and the beds are incredibly comfortable, but it’s the people that make it special. We actually cut our time in Cannes short specifically to return to Domaine La Pierre Blanche for a second stay. Special thanks to Sara, Natacha, and Thibaut for their amazing hosp...

Our stay at the hotel was made truly exceptional, all thanks to the incredible hospitality and attentiveness of Victoria, the friendliest concierge we've ever encountered. Her personalized care and warm demeanor left a lasting impression on us, and we can't wait to return to this wonderful hotel in the future. Upon arriving early from the airport, we were unsure how to spend our time before check...

This is a true gem of a place. It’s quite small, but has a great atmosphere, partly down to the young team who look after you, but also it’s a very popular place to come and eat - there are always lots more people in the restaurant than just the hotel guests. We stayed in Suite 15 - one of the lavender suits, the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning very quiet, lovely terrace outside whi...

This was our second consecutive year staying at Domaine. Firstly, we again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-designed, whilst the pool is tranquil. Most days, there was no issue whatsoever in getting one of the very comfortable day beds around the pool, as the hotel only has 15 rooms and not all fellow guests chose to use the facility. The pool area is very relaxe...

The resort is nested in a peaceful and beautiful location next to the vineyards, located 5 mins driving from Eygalieres and 15 from Remy en Provence:m. You can tell immediately that the owners have done a brilliant job in creating the perfect atmosphere and have put an ...
