- Proximity: It's located just 5-10 minutes drive from the beach at Gruissan and a short drive (approximately 10 minutes) from the historic city of Narbonne.
- Natural Surroundings: The estate is within the Massif de la Clape, a protected nature reserve with walking and biking trails.
- Transport: While the location provides a tranquil retreat, many guests advise that a car is highly recommended to explore the surrounding region, as public transport is scant. Narbonne train station is about a 10-minute drive away, and Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport is approximately 35-40 minutes away. Free parking and EV chargers are available on-site.
Value & Pricing
While considered a luxury retreat, guests generally feel the "splurge was worth it" as the experience often surpasses expectations. Review scores for "Value for Money" typically range around 8.5 to 8.6 out of 10. Specific pricing information for rooms and villas varies, but an "experience" package including a night in a hotel room, breakfast, dinner at Asado, and spa access starts from approximately 254 EUR per person. Buffet breakfast is typically an additional €24 per person (€15 for under-13s).
Common Complaints
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, some recurring issues or criticisms have been noted:
- Need for a Car: The secluded vineyard location means that without a car, guests might feel "a little trapped in the luxury," as everything is a taxi ride away.
- Air Conditioning: A few guests have reported issues with the air conditioning not adequately cooling rooms, particularly in the château.
- Noise: Some reviews mention noise from very young children (0-2 years) at the pool and during meal times, which occasionally disturbed sleep in the rooms.
- Restaurant Availability/Options: On busy evenings or during conferences, guests without pre-booked tables have found it difficult to dine at the hotel restaurants. There have also been comments regarding limited gluten-free options and the sizing of some meat dishes in the restaurant, which might be too large for couples.
- Accessibility within the Estate: The grounds can be hilly and are not always suitcase-friendly. While some villas are accessible, the château itself lacks a lift, and some areas may have steps.
- Limited English: A few guests reported limited English proficiency among some staff members.

Excellent Service, Excellent location on a hill overlooking the la Clape Wine area and the extensive ponds. Do expect Mosquitos. That's fair enough for them. Love the pool and I do recommend considering one of the adjacent houses for rent

Stunning location and a very special place, rescued by the Bonfils family and tastefully modernised. The infinity pool area is especially nice and the gourmet restaurant is well worth the money: friendly service with no pretentious posturing from staff who are clearly passionate about their métiers. Excellent wine also. We did a 'vertical' tasting of their reds - also recommended.
