The exceptional staff performance, unbeatable value, and immaculate cleanliness are frequently highlighted as major draws. The unique experience of staying in a well-maintained, historical castle, complete with access to the castle and its museum, is a significant highlight. Room Quality

Rooms at Burg Reichenstein are described as comfortable and spacious, blending modern amenities with the historic setting. They typically feature free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and coffee makers. Some rooms boast captivating river views and private balconies. While generally well-received, one guest noted a "plain" room that "could have done with a few pictures on the walls or some more TLC," and another found their bed to be too firm. Some rooms, especially family rooms, offer private bathrooms, hairdryers, and free toiletries.

Dining Experience

The dining experience at Burg Reichenstein is a significant highlight, particularly at its on-site restaurant, Puricelli, which is recognized in the Michelin Guide Germany. The restaurant serves a delightful blend of traditional German cuisine and international flavors in an elegant ambiance, often with panoramic views from its terrace. Guests consistently praise the food as superb and delicious, recommending the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast offerings are described as splendid and exquisite, featuring continental, buffet, and à la carte options, including local specialties, fresh pastries, cheese, and fruits. The inclusion of an afternoon tea with snacks is also highly appreciated by guests. Other nearby castles like Sooneck Castle are also easily accessible.

Accessibility is convenient, with the Trechtingshausen Train Station just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, connecting travelers to major cities like Mainz and Frankfurt. A bus stop is also within walking distance. Limited free private parking is available directly at the castle, with additional parking at the foot of the castle, a three-minute walk away. While the historic nature of the building means there is no elevator, the registration desk and restaurant are wheelchair accessible. Pets are welcome in the hotel and restaurant for an additional charge.

Value & Pricing

Guests consistently praise Burg Reichenstein for its "unbeatable value" and feel they are getting "more than their money's worth." With an average room price around $228, it is considered an "exceptional value for money," especially when considering the included amenities like free breakfast, castle entry, and afternoon tea for many bookings. While some guests noted the pricing for dinner at the restaurant could be high, the overall experience is often deemed worth the cost.

Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, a few minor criticisms have been noted. One guest found their bed to be too firm. Another mentioned a room lacking a mini-bar or refrigerator and felt that a €350 per night price without breakfast was not justified, though other reviews clearly state breakfast is often included. One guest also preferred the TV to be downstairs in their two-level room. Limited on-site parking is mentioned, but alternative parking is available nearby.

We hosted a retreat there, and it was the best experience ever. I am used to organize these events, which can be challenging, but the staff of the Burg, not just had all the patience in the world with all the requests of participants and different timings, but they were super proactive in supporting me to find more effective solutions for all eventualities. They took care of participants suffering...
