Praised for its unique approach to outdoor hospitality, the resort consistently receives high marks from guests.

Overall Rating & Sentiment

ULUM Moab generally garners outstanding reviews, with guests frequently describing their stays as "unique and unforgettable" and "breathtaking." Its designation as a Michelin Two-Key resort signifies its "crème de la crème" status, recognized for its exceptional design, service, and deep connection to its stunning natural surroundings.

Key Highlights

Guests consistently rave about several standout features:

  • Design & Ambiance: The property's design is thoughtfully integrated into the natural contours of the land, utilizing organic materials like local stone and wood to reflect the desert environment. The contemporary lobby features floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping desert views.
  • Location: The secluded setting, nestled within a crescent of 100-foot cliffs and overlooking the iconic Looking Glass Arch with views extending to Canyonlands National Park, is a major draw. It's also a designated Dark Sky Approved Lodging, offering unparalleled stargazing opportunities.
  • Amenities: Luxury amenities include hot and cool dipping pools, a sun terrace, an outdoor fireplace, and an electric vehicle charging station. Complimentary activities such as morning yoga, sound bath meditations, stargazing sessions, live acoustic music, and nightly s'mores around fire pits are highly popular.
  • Service: The staff consistently receives glowing feedback for being "super friendly," "welcoming," "attentive," and "fabulous."

Room Quality

The accommodations at ULUM Moab are luxury canvas "Suite Tents" set on raised wooden platforms. These spacious (360 sq ft with a 70 sq ft deck) safari-inspired tents are outfitted with high-end furnishings, including king-size beds with heated mattress pads, plush Parachute linens, and West Elm furniture. Each tent boasts a private deck, air conditioning (evaporative coolers), and a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings. En-suite bathrooms feature rain showers, flushing toilets, and lavish Aesop bath products, along with Turkish cotton bathrobes. Guests appreciate the comfortable and well-appointed interiors, noting the blend of camping aesthetic with hotel comforts.

Dining Experience

The resort's full-service restaurant, located in the main lobby, offers an "elevated dining experience" with approachable, quality, and seasonal Southwest-inspired cuisine. Dinner menus change seasonally and include options like chicken with mole sauce, chili-seasoned cauliflower, and short rib tacos. Breakfast is available as an American buffet, and à la carte options include egg sandwiches, French toast, and yogurt bowls, accompanied by specialty coffee like cappuccinos and green juices. An espresso and smoothie bar is also available, along with grab-and-go wraps and healthy snacks for lunch. Guests praise the food as "excellent" and "very tasty." Al fresco dining on the terraced patio with views of Looking Glass Arch is a highlight, often accompanied by live acoustic music.

Service & Staff

The service at ULUM Moab consistently receives exceptional praise. Guests frequently highlight the staff's "kindness," "engagement," and willingness to go above and beyond to assist. Descriptions such as "super," "amazing," "fabulous," and "responsive" are common. The hospitality creates a sense of belonging and community, a unique aspect for a luxury property.

Location & Accessibility

ULUM Moab is situated in a secluded desert setting approximately 25 to 30 minutes south of the town of Moab, Utah. Its remote location provides stunning views of Looking Glass Arch and Canyonlands National Park. It offers convenient access to world-class outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, rock climbing, canyoneering, and white-water rafting, with Arches National Park about 40 minutes away and Canyonlands National Park about an hour's drive. While some suggest a 4WD vehicle for access, the property is generally accessible, and complimentary golf cart service is provided on-site.

Value & Pricing

ULUM Moab is considered a premium experience, and pricing reflects its luxury glamping concept. Many guests acknowledge that the food and drinks are "quite pricy" but often state that the overall "unique experience" makes it "well worth it." Some reviews indicate a perception of it being "way too expensive" for the experience, suggesting that while many find it worthwhile, it is a significant investment. The Michelin Two-Key rating further underscores its luxury positioning.

Common Complaints

While overwhelmingly positive, some recurring issues or criticisms include:

  • Temperature in Tents: Despite wood-burning stoves, some guests found the tents could still be cold at night, and sometimes the stoves produced smoke.
  • Limited Lunch Options: The main restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, with grab-and-go options available for lunch, which some guests noted.
  • Amenities Availability: One guest mentioned that not all plunge pools were available, and there was a lack of cooling water.
  • Pricing Perception: While many found the value justified, a few guests explicitly felt the price was "way too high" for the experience.

We stayed at Ulum on a trip to Arches back in late September and were overall very pleased. The property itself is great and is structured in a way to give you perfect sunsets/sunrise but also a full sky full of stars at night. The service was amazing throughout with every member of the team being helpful, providing recommendations and going above and beyond. The communal area is also very well ...

Being relative and objective, our stay was 5/5. ***How ever*** if I could give 4.5 I would because the house keeping / cleaning services are not at par of a 4 star property and DEFINITELY NOT at per with a two Michelin key property. The bed was barely made, pillows never fluffed. Started with 4 towels, ended with 3. Inconsistent - sometimes fire lighting tools with tidied up, other times things we...

We stayed 4 nights in early October 2025. During 3 nights, there were winds. The rooms, which are large canvas tents supported by timbers, become noisy in any wind, down to 5 mph. This includes the support timbers squeaking (emitting sounds akin to rats squeaking) and top canvas flapping against the inner canvas. In short, sleeping well was a tremendous challenge except on the night when wind was ...

A little off the beaten path from Moab, a gorgeous setting, clean and captures the art of perfectly minimal. Restaurant was fantastic, especially on live music night. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the crafts, and the whole family loved the dipping pools. We can’t wait to come back!

This place was extremely nice. It provides you with the comfort of home in the middle of nature. The staff was welcoming, kind, provided great conversation and made the experience enjoyable and fun. The only thing that I would have like differently was that there were a few holes in my tent from the constant wind movement blowing the fabric against the wood that held it up, which nobody can con...

Visiting ULUM was truly an unforgettable experience. From the breathtaking scenery to the warm and welcoming staff, the beautiful tent accommodations, delicious food, and even the cold plunge—everything exceeded my expectations.
