Room Quality
The nine guest rooms are celebrated for their elegance, unique styling, and comfort, offering a blend of period atmosphere and contemporary design. Each room is individually designed, with features like luxury bedding, en-suite bathrooms (some with both bath and wet-room facilities), luxury toiletries, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, iPod docks, and tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms are named after local streets and boast distinctive decor, such as hand-painted floral panels or vintage 1970s wallpaper. Examples include the spacious "All Saints" suite with a super king-size bed and separate wet-room, and the opulent "Crown" room featuring a king-size bed and a roll-top bath within the bedroom. While most rooms offer tranquility, some front-facing rooms might be prone to traffic noise.

- Local objections were raised concerning a proposed new café for the property, citing potential issues with noise and parking, although the plans were approved.

We wanted a quick break from the city and booked ourselves to stay in The Old Rectory. The place was very homey. The breakfast included in the booking was not a buffet but very delicious and tasty. The staff were very friendly as well and is always there to give assistance when needed. It is so close in the old town and was a quick walk back after us wondering around the bay area. An absolutely brilliant place to stay, quirky in the best way. The breakfast is amazing, they smoke their own fish on-site, make their own preserves, cure their own bacon and make their own sausages. The only thing I could complain about is that there's only 2 parking spaces. Other than that you need to stay here!

Stayed here for my cousin’s hen and we had the whole place rented out. First of all, the staff were amazing! Could not be more accommodating and laid back. They made everything relaxed and couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and would highly recommend. Definitely going to stay again in the future.

Absolutely wonderful stay. After a 5.5hr solo car journey I arrived exhausted.. I was immediately offered a cup of tea and taken through to the lounge... Sitting in front of the roaring log fire a teapot and slice of cake soon had me perking up.... My case was magically whisked up to my room whilst I enjoyed my tea. My room was beautiful, on the second floor overlooking the garden... Beautifull...

Lovely little hotel run by such lovely people. Bed extremely comfortable, lovely strong shower, rooms nice and clean and - of course- homely food - ticks all the boxes really. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you for looking after us!

The best hotel I stayed in so far. Fantastic service, great food, the treatment room professionals are amazing, rooms are very well-furnished, and there is a private back garden with a pond. Plus we were upgraded to a bigger room when Natalie learned we were here for our anniversary. Thank you The Old Rectory team for a great stay!
