We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Barú and would absolutely recommend it if you’re looking for a refined, relaxing escape just outside Cartagena. The property itself is stunning—beautifully designed, modern, and impeccably maintained. The beachfront is peaceful and uncrowded, with plenty of space to relax without feeling overwhelmed. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed,...

Fantastic from start to finish. Arriving by boat was magical and to be greeted by warm and caring staff at the dock was surreal. Jorge at check in was efficient and kind, ensuring that we had the room upgrade we were entitled to and that housekeeping was working quickly to get our room ready (as we arrived early). Food and service at Humo was so good we went back a second time. Breakfast buffet wa...

Fantastic. The hotel is only 4 years old, everything is newish, the staff is almost too helpful and anticipates potential needs. If your looking for something exclusive and remote, that's the place, however it is remote so not much around; Cartagena is 1.5 hours by car(last 20 minutes on uneven dirt road), 45 mins by boat so that could be a negative for some. The food is excellent. Alex the Asst. ...

We had a great stay with my family and 2 children and our friends. The property is great and would recommend. The staff was extremely hospitable and caring. We had especially great experiences with Camilo Cabareas and Sara they were extremely helpful and always checking in to see if my family was having a good time and helped with all of our needs. The only complaints I have were slightly limited ...

Upon arrival, however, I was informed that the room was smaller than expected and had a maximum occupancy of three guests. The staff asked for the ages of my child...

Sofitel Cartagena is truly a 5-star resort. The food and service is incredible. The rooms and landscape are stunning. Beautiful beach and plenty of wildlife. 5 gorgeous clean pools. Top security with double gated community. One of the best places I’ve stayed. It’s worth the longer trip to get here.
