1. Overall Rating & Sentiment

The general consensus for Radisson RED Helsinki is overwhelmingly positive, with guests frequently describing their stays as "exceptional," "fantastic," and "amazing." It boasts an average rating of 9.0 out of 10 stars from over 1,600 reviews. Reviewers consistently praise its fresh, contemporary vibe and express a strong desire to return.

2. Key Highlights

Guests consistently love the hotel's modern design, excellent central location, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel's "quirky-ness" and vibrant atmosphere, particularly in the lobby and communal areas, are often highlighted. Amenities such as the 24-hour gym and complimentary sauna access are also significant draws. The hotel's commitment to sustainability, evidenced by its Green Key certification, is also appreciated by guests.

3. Room Quality

The 195 rooms and suites at Radisson RED Helsinki are described as modern, stylish, and comfortable, featuring a bold design with dark wooden interiors and thoughtful touches. They come equipped with air conditioning, private bathrooms, tea and coffee makers, free WiFi, and flat-screen TVs, with many offering garden or city views. Reviewers frequently commend the comfort of the beds and the quietness of the rooms, despite the central location, thanks to impeccable sound insulation. Some rooms, particularly Superior Rooms, feature spacious bathrooms with large bathtubs and ample natural light, making them a standout feature. Small details like clearly marked lighting switches and extra USB/USB-C ports are noted as making the stay easier.

4. Dining Experience

The dining experience at Radisson RED Helsinki is generally highly rated, particularly the breakfast buffet. Guests describe it as "epic," "bountiful," and "delicious," offering a wide assortment of options including continental and buffet choices, champagne, local specialties, warm dishes, fresh pastries, pancakes, cheese, and fruits. Some guests highlight the option to order fresh omelets. While a few reviews mention that the breakfast selection might be slightly smaller in variety compared to some other Radisson brands, the quality and freshness of the items are consistently praised. The RED Kitchen & Bar serves lunch and dinner in a stylish setting.

Guests frequently mention the staff's welcoming demeanor and willingness to assist with luggage and other needs, making them feel incredibly comfortable and safe, even for solo travelers. The staff's efficiency, including facilitating early check-in, is also noted.

6. Location & Accessibility

The hotel boasts a prime, central location in Helsinki city center, making it highly accessible. It is just a 7-minute walk from Helsinki Central Station, a major hub for trains, metro, and buses, and approximately 200 meters from the University of Helsinki tube station. This makes it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's attractions, with Helsinki Cathedral about 600 meters away and Senate Square a short walk. The hotel is situated next to a park, offering a quieter environment despite its central location and potential for park views from some rooms.

7. Value & Pricing

Guests generally consider Radisson RED Helsinki to offer good value for money, with prices starting from approximately US$122 per night. Many reviewers feel that the quality of service, modern facilities, and excellent location justify the cost.

8. Common Complaints

While overall sentiment is very positive, a few minor criticisms have been mentioned. Some guests have found certain room types to be on the smaller side. Additionally, while breakfast quality is high, the variety might be perceived as limited compared to larger Radisson Blu or Collection hotels by some frequent travelers. However, these are generally outweighed by the numerous positive aspects of the hotel.

I had my first stay here. The location is excellent, next to the Helsinki Railway Station. The hotel is new. You can see Kaisaniemi Park views from the windows. The breakfast was excellent as well. I did not visit the gym or saunas. For runners, there is good running routes nearby (Töölönlahti). I would go here again.

No 5* for lack of water. Otherwise, 5* rating. Surprisingly good food at the hotel restaurant. I try to avoid eating at hotel restaurants but this time I wasn't disappointed. Especially, the stake was great and the red wine they served (Montepulciano?). Great location at the Botanic Garden, just a few steps from the main railway station, National Theater, Ateneum Museum of Art, Kiasma Museum and t...

Highly recommend. Hotel is new, modern. Rooms a very sufficient. Clean and affordable. Value for money in my opinion because of close proximity to central Helsinki. Arrived dead of night and was hospitably received by Simon. Most hospital and genuinely friendly and helpful. So immediately props to Red. Good vibes again when Lotta helped me with a slightly early check in after I returned from a ti...

Very nice and modern hotel with good quality service. It is rather plain not luxurious but offers a really nice stay with excellent location. The breakfast contains a wide selection of foods, you will not be left hungry afterwards. The touch of service with freshly brewed coffee/table service with cappuccino is missing, but in this type of hotel it is equivalent to the level of service in general....

Only came here for breakfast. Overall I think it's good but maybe priced a bit too high. Staff was extremely nice and seating area is nice with big windows and views of the park. They have a big selection but only comprising of fairly basic things you would find at any bigger hotel in Finland. Nothing to stand out like amazing homemade bread, special nordic elements or something like that. The war...
